yes i am judgmental toward people who can’t have fun or be social without drinking. no i do not care if that makes you mad.

Any other Christians alarmed by this "Bar Church" culture? I'm sober, and church is one of the last places that I can go to to be around other people (& the focus is not on drinking).

Not to mention Ephesians 5:18 says

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit

As a woman, it's also uncomfortable/unsafe to be around men who are drinking. It's also a bad example that we're setting for children.

I grew up a Methodist, we didn't use real wine for communion (just grape juice), and I remember asking my Pastor why we didn't use real wine, and he said "Imagine a former alcoholic who is trying hard to stay sober, and now he's confronted with wine in a Church (!)"

I really don't like it. I don't like the prevalence of alcohol culture
