Why don't you like Grayson or Hawkeye. Grayson is different but it was a change of pace
Don’t like is an understatement. But anyway. My main reason for hating Grayson is the fact that they made a new character and they named her Helena Bertinelli. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t want the real Helena Bertinelli in that series. I actually wanted her away from the evils of the New 52.
Okay, but back to Grayson. They took Helena’s name and gave it to another character who has nothing in common with Helena Bertinelli. And it’s the second time that happened in the New 52 (in the span of 3 years). They want to make the sex crazed matron who slaps Dick around and acts like a psycho, good make her, but don’t name her Helena Bertinelli. Don’t taint Helena’s memory by attaching her name to such a horrible character. Character’s names are unique, they can’t just be passed around to a new character in whichever new book that needs a sales boost.
I’ve also seen complaints from Dick Grayson fans who were saying how ooc Dick is acting and how he’s only there to be objectified and other things. Here’s a post talking more about that.
I hate Fraction’s Hawkeye because it ignores canon and it treats its characters like crap. I actually ranted about it earlier today on my other blog so I’ll copy and paste it.
Like Clint would never cheat on his girlfriend. Jessica Drew wouldn’t just sit around and let the bad guy get away. Barney wouldn’t go back to Clint and act like they’re bffs when their last meeting was Barney saying the next time they meet one of them dies. Clint isn’t a useless manchild who says “Aww car” or “aww coffee” all the time and can’t tie his pants. He’s the guy that Captain America wanted in charge of the Avengers. Fraction even called Barney a “useless crapsack”. You can see how much he respects these characters.
It’s a whole mess of a comic and I’m happy it’s over. Now if Grayson could learn from it and end already.
