This NRA Pada twist convinced me definitely of one thing I was already considering: loyalty is a fault. I'm seeing a lot of stans who are mirror climbing to defend him. Many of them defend him because they are worse than him, they're trumpist and alt-right garbage and whatever but a lot are decent people who feel the compulsion to be there for a loved one even if he fucked up. Fuck that! If someone you used to admire reveals to be a piece of shit drop them. If you are mistreated in a workplace and have a better option leave immediately. If a political cause doesn't feel right anymore switch side. If a loved one becomes abusive ghost them. Loyalty compels people to keep being attached to garbage, if you are convinced something or someone is good for you you don't need loyalty to psych yourself into staying.
There is nothing noble in it, it's just inability to change, emotional and mental laziness. What it is noble is to improve themselves, other people and the whole world.
