New pub for Peckham
A brand-new boozer is set to open on Melon Road in September.
The Hope will be a new-build located behind 45-51 Peckham High Street. It will be based on the ground floor of a three-storey building, with four one-bedroom flats above.
Southwark Council has granted the pub, which will be operated by Antic London, permission to trade until 12.30am from Sunday to Wednesday, and until 1.30am from Thursday to Saturday.
Antic runs a sizable portfolio of pubs, including The Tiger and the Sun of Camberwell in SE5. It also owns the East Dulwich Tavern on Lordship Lane and the Sylvan Post – a converted 1960s post office in Forest Hill.
A spokesman for Antic said: “Having started up in East Dulwich 15 years ago, South London is very close to Antic’s heart and we are very excited to be joining the Peckham community.”
