this might be a hot take, but it feels like a light smack on the face to have Lilith as aroace rep and not include Willow.

now, i have no issue with Lilith being aroace. i love Lilith and there's no actual problem with her being labeled as such.

but in comparison to Willow, who hasn't shown true romantic interest or chemistry with anyone until s2-s3 kinda pushed it in there, i do feel a little bit salty as a questioning arospec person.

i don't particularly understand why there has to be one of every type, when the 'romance' between Willow and Hunter negatively affected both of their arcs and sidelined their true character as a whole. to only have Lilith as the aroace character, when she was an antagonist previously, can possibly send a weird message.

maybe none of this really matters and i'm just nitpicking, but i really would've loved to have Willow as the aroace rep too. there doesn't have to be one way or another.

(willow isn't exactly invulnerable, she does have some emotional moments after she meets hunter. however, she is suddenly turned into a "badass girlboss" and the rest of the post holds up.)

since they were never made explicitly canon im just gonna say hunter had a crush on willow but it never actually went anywhere. they stayed best friends for sure but willow just didn't feel the same

and then willow ends up with lumity perchance? well she doesn't have to date anyone ofc but i think she has chemistry with both of them

(like. wdym that one scene where amity is braiding willow's hair ISN'T supposed to be a little romantic???)

i've seen a few other people bring up good points on here so im gonna add in my thoughts about why i don't like huntlow

to me it felt like hunter was clinging to the first person his age who saw him as like, a regular teenager. sure, amity and luz have their moments of "the golden guard looks my age wtf" but in both cases, they saw him as the golden guard before anything else. willow was the first person who saw him as an equal, who saw him as "hunter" before "belos' right hand man". willow was nice to him because she's a generally kind person, not because she had to or because she pitied him.

and i feel like that kind of relationship is fine when the character receiving unconditional kindness has time to heal from their trauma! time that this show just didn't have!! and if you know you don't have time to fully develop a relationship in a healthy way, why try to develop it at all?

Huntlow both characters individually develop meeting in the middle to help develop each other. Looking back they have so many differences but within those differences there are many similarities.

Honestly their relationship is interesting , they always have this instinct if one them gets hurt the other is also hurt , if one of them is in danger one of them rushes to protect without hesitation , they support and help strengthen each other without questioning even if they know the least. Basically they are equals in their relationship from start up to the future

Hmm let's see Hunter gets a crush on Willow because he admires her kindness and strength at first but the reason why Willow is the first person his age to accept Hunter not the Golden Guard going back he met Hunter not Golden Guard Hunter still getting used to be friends but each time they grew close being protective having an instinct if one is in danger the other is there to comfort them without questioning or not knowing the least about why they need to. They develop with each other that admiration leads to more than that feeling of it.

Finale fans those are the ones who don't like the ship listen they are completely healthy and help each other characters especially on what the have been through, Half a witch that phrase each of them at one point outright said to themselves full self doubt realizing that there just the same learning to rely on others and also helping themselves realized that they're not alone they're too confident as seen in ftf determine to achieve thier goals but deep inside that insecurity ,self doubt , fear , sadness and anger still haunts them and takes over them but in the end they help each other.

i don't understand how being anti huntlow means i'm a hypocrite. is it because i'm anti c//a as well and huntlow is considerably better? i will agree with you, it is. doesn't mean that i have to like it.

again, if you like huntlow, i respect that and i leave people who do alone, because i'm not an asshole and going to comment on their posts that their ship doesn't appeal to me, canon or not. you should do the same and stop bothering me and others just because they don't like the ship.

just because they do all those things doesn't mean i have to like it. and, if you are that same person, it has nothing to do with them being straight-passing. it has nothing to do with me personally thinking hunter or willow don't deserve each other. that was not an opinion i shared, but you shouldn't harass the person who does.

please, leave me alone. i have done nothing to you and it's my prerogative to critique or project, even if you see it as unfit.
