hi seo! a question kinda outta left field, but have you watched/read the goldfinch by donna tartt? it’s a rlly lovely piece and i’m very invested in it right now haha

i think i’ve read the start of it but never ended up finishing it which is a shame :( i do plan on finishing it up when i have the time though!

zevran -3. What did your Warden know of the Crows before meeting Zevran? What did they think of the Crows afterward?

ellanis knew basically nothing of the crows before hand honestly, there are not super many books about antivan history in the tabris household before the blight so he kinda got blindsided by an actual crow turning up. after? immediately after ellanis wonders if they’re all they’re cracked up to be but as he travels with zevran and gets to know him better he recognizes zevran was really trying to fail the day they met and crow training is quite formidable

alistair  -3. Was Alistair reunited with his sister, Goldanna? What did your Warden think of her? Did they relate to Alistair with their own familial struggles?

okay so in my verse family and community are foundational in the denerim alienage it absolutely blows ellanis’ mind that goldanna would be so cross with alistair because for him family is family no matter the circumstances. he can understand her frustration and can sympathize with her for a bit, especially bc he isn’t the biggest fan of alistair either, but its something he really can’t quite wrap his head around the whole way.

wynne - 3. How did your Warden feel about the Spirit of Faith within Wynne? Did they see it as possession?

it is incredibly interesting to ellanis, his mage training all happened within the denerim alienage and his mentor died when he was a little under 15 so it was cut rather short. his knowledge comes from self teaching and guessing mostly after this so when he hears about wynne it blows his mind. and no, he doesn’t see it as possession, again in my verse andrastianism in the alienages is a different kind than the one practiced by humans and in their practice spirits are seen as not equals but definitely as more people-esque than the chantry sees them. they’re not inherently evil since they are the first children of the maker so its something that, potentially, is seen as something a person of faith (lol no pun intended) could achieve

leliana - 3. If your Warden received Leliana’s personal quest, what did they choose to do with Marjolaine and why?

ahh ellanis actually never triggered her quest, i really should replay it to see if that happens again now that i have a better idea of his character

sten - 3. Did your Warden retrieve Sten’s sword? Did your Warden’s choice to give it to him or withhold it affect their relationship with Sten at all?

yes! ellanis is good friends with (and has a huge fucking crush on) sten, and he wants to help sten find his footing again. their relationship is, at first, rocky since ellanis is a mage but ellanis likes to talk philosophy with sten in the evenings and they really start to become friends. and after ellanis rather proves his mettle in the deep roads sten is more trusting of his judgement/abilities and that improves their relationship too. after he gives the sword back? they’re so tight man ellanis and sten gossip and talk shit... quite often lmao also! sten starts teaching ellanis qunlat and ellanis picks it up semi quickly which is :3

oghren - 3. What was the fate of Branka? If she was killed, was your Warden regretful? How did they act around Oghren afterwards?

the tail end of the deep roads really left a bad taste in ellanis’ mouth, branka dies in the deep roads, ellanis cannot abide by how little she considers the lives of others in persuit of glory and perpetual war so yeah she had to go. but he isn’t someone to beat around the bush either so he doesn’t change his behavior around oghren much at all, they have a long conversation about it and ellanis tells him he is free to go should he disagree but oghren sticks around

morrigan - 3. How close was your Warden to Morrigan? Did your Warden respect her abilities as a witch of the wilds?

they are best friends. best friends ellanis and morrigan hit it off basically from the start tbh. ellanis’ magic is, powerful but its unrefined in most things because he is entirely self taught (and self taught in an enviroment of fear) so morrigan gives him some pointers and lessions and honestly ellanis is really thankful/glad for them and he really respects her abilities. THO i will say he respects the abilities of most mages, however they are taught, bc he himself is an apostate so he knows whats up

loghain - ellanis never had loghain as a companion! he killed him for what he was doing to the alienage :)

shale - 3. Did your Warden aid Branka or Caridin? Did their choice affect their relationship with Shale?

caridin, ellanis isn’t interested in forcibly drafting people into a war without end and especially not interested in turning people into immortal golems without their consent. shale is, a friend to ellanis and their relationship is strengthened a bit after the confrontation with branka and they, too, have a long convo after it so ellanis knows where they stand and how its affected shale since it isn’t something he has any experience in
