He was kidnapped as a child and all he can remember is that it was a guy and that he liked cake. So he has trauma responses to men touching him and immediately pukes if he eats cake. He gets confessed to by a gay guy (Sunwoo) in high school and over reacts because of his trauma about men. Cut to present day and he opens a cake shop to try to lure out the guy who kidnapped him as a kid to get closure and SURPRISE the guy who had a crush on you in high school applies for the job of main pastry chef. The reason I love Jinhyuk is because he does his best to make up for the way he treated him in the past. He also takes in two other chars as workers who need a friend and supports them. He really cares about his friends/found family. And, at the end of it all, not only does he save a young boy who is kidnapped (closure) but he gets more comfortable with Sunwoo and can accept hugs and stuff without reacting badly. It ends with him, on a whim, agreeing to go with him to a gay club just for fun. I finished Antique (I watched the first half last week and I never got around to finishing it until now) so I want to talk about it because it made me lose my shit:
-In the first five minutes Seon Woo tells his crush that he likes him then gets hit with a cake. I was caught off guard
-I didn’t realize there was a kidnapping plot
-The fucking dance sequence!
-Jin Hyuk. Just everything this about him is at least a little fucked up. Bro needs therapy.
