Week 9
This week was a complete week (5 days) of living in the field. Anthony lived ate and slept in the field. There was also no indoor plumbing (which includes no showers) and no dinning facility.
A tactical assembly area was built so they had a secure area to operate out of. The soldiers had to pull security 24 hours a day. In order to not give our position away to the enemy they had a dig hasty fighting positions to conceal themselves. We also had to operate entry control points into the assembly area.
During the mission, Anthony had to react to in-direct fire, conduct a squad attack, and react to an ambush. Before going out on patrol, Anthony had to receive a mission brief and conduct rehearsals. When they got back they conducted an After Action Review (AAR) where they discussed what was supposed to happen, what happened, improves, sustains, and how to make training better.
It was a tough week and when they were done in the field, they had to ruck back to the company area. This last ruck march was 16K (about 10 miles) and lasted over 5 hours. The soldiers got increasingly tired, but all soldiers made it.
Next week is the closing of BCT. WE CANNOT WAIT TO SEE YOU ON FAMILY DAY AND GRADUATION!
I MISS YOU SO MUCH! HURRY UP SO WE CAN WATCH OUR SHOWS TOGETHER!
I LOVE YOU LIKE CRAZY. <3
