Duran Duranの2ndアルバム｢RIO」を聴く。 パトリック・ナゲルの手がけたジャケットが素晴らしい80年代屈指の名盤。 パトリック・ナゲルは雑誌｢PLAY BOY」の専属イラストレーター。 アルバム｢RIO」には同じく｢PLAY BOY」のカメラマンだったヘルムート・ニュートンのオマージュ曲｢The Chauffeur）も収録。 （ビデオがもろヘルムート・ニュートン😅） ｢RIO」のビデオではアントニー・プライス（デビッド ・ボウイやロキシー・ミュージックを手掛けたファッション・デザイナー）がファッションを手掛けてたりもする。 グラム・ロック からニュー・ウェーブに繋がるこの辺りの文化は、 JAPANファンの目線で学生時代からずっと追っていて、今でも影響されまくっている。 （絵の作風的にもナゲルやロバート.E.マクギニスにはめちゃくちゃ影響を受けた） いまとなっては デビッド ・ボウイもJAPANのミック・カーンもパトリック・ナゲルもヘルムート・ニュートンも亡くなったし、「PLAY BOY」誌もなくなって、 この辺りの文化を継承しているのって本当にDuran Duranぐらい。 次のアルバム・プロデュースはジョルジオ・モロダー 素晴らしいよね。 #duranduran #rio #nagel #antonyprice (Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ5NioJpH8c/?igshid=un9eio8n2wsx
