The missive reached him halftway in his trip to the dragon’s den. Cadros was glad that he hadn’t missed the courier; he knew that in the current circumstances many were wary of Anankos’ presence, and for that act of good faith, Cadros rewarded the messenger.
As the mouth of the cave came into sight, Cadros gestured for his escort to wait outside. He could see their uneasiness even if they would not voice out their protests. Yet Cadros had only come to see his friend-- This was no villain; there was nothing to fear.
Without a backwards glance, he stepped inside the cavern. Light quickly faded as he advanced without a torch in hand, simply going by memory. It wouldn’t be long until he met his friend.
