On that same note ( and for context: I’ve posted on multiple posts defending female ocs already ):
Stop dismissing male ocs as ‘’basic’’ just because they play into popular tropes. If people are allowed to write ‘’whatever they want, let them have fun’’, that extends to ‘’basic white boys’’ too. Being any minority/flagging any sort of representation is not synonymous with being interesting, and it doesn’t make those kinds of characters more or less important to a story. Mind your business.
