Please Support the Vineland Public Library
heyo so my local library, the Vineland Public Library in New Jersey, has gotten SEVERE budget cuts lately. last year, the hours were cut and this year 5 people are being laid off. they also can’t buy any new books, because most funding is going to general operations. lots of events are funded by donations, and mostly run by volunteers now. because they can’t hire we need way more volunteers to keep everything running smoothly. i’m really worried that at some point the library might be shut down, especially since i’ve met so many nice people there while volunteering. the library has SO many helpful resources, ESL training, teen programs, children reading programs, language learning programs, stuff like Overdrive where you can check out books online, or even just being a place to chill for free. it would be a shame for it to all be gone because of lack of funding. the library depends on grants and donations, so if you can, please consider helping out!!
if you’re in the Vineland/New Jersey area please volunteer, or just check out books or go to events (it’s all free)! even browsing books and leaving them on the reshelf carts helps! you can also donate through the Friends of the Vineland Public Library or buy books through their wishlist. they also have an Amazon Smiles partnership where if you buy something off of amazon, Amazon donates part of the proceeds!
