AITA for chopping my brother's palm tree down?

I (???F) had to chop (punched) my brother's (???M)(not biological brother) tree down in order to harvest its wood to use to help our dear friend (???F) complete her assigned island game task. He had told me, the dear friend I just mentioned, and another dear friend (???F) that the palm tree was the "only good thing" he has on the island, stating that it provided him happiness from all that he previously went through from being shipwrecked, almost swallowed by a fish, being abducted to the island, and being forced to stay in his assigned spot (where the tree is) for part of his own task. along with that, it apparently provided water, food, and shelter for him. AITA?
