Today I wore a fez to school.
One person stole my fez, put it on, said "fezzes are cool," and pulled out a sonic screwdriver.
"A Very Whovian New Year."
I sit with my fish-fingers and custard and watch the clock intensely, taking care to make sure it is the source of the light ticking I hear.
It is.
My sister enters the kitchen as the hands click towards 11:58.
“I see you two are gearing up for that New Years kiss?”
“Shhh; I’m timing it for 12:00 sharp. That way, when the Doctor finds me, I can tell him exactly what time to revisit.”
She rolls her eyes and exits, leaving us alone again.
11:59.
“It’s almost time,” I whisper softly.
No reply.
No surprise.
10 seconds left.
5 seconds.
2.
“Happy New Year Sexy.”
And I lean over and plant my first kiss of 2013.
But my TARDIS replica, being a TARDIS replica, does not kiss back.
I sigh and decide on a New Year’s Resolution…
“I need to get myself a boyfriend.”
