TADC EP 8 SPOILERS
this is kind of just a log of screenshots from the opening part of the ep, including all the pictures fed into caine + a few thoughts/observations
(i am assuming at the moment that the red dot represents caine, and the blue dot is probably named abel)
not sure if it matters, but this is RGB. Later, when caine is glitching, his model has cyan, magenta and yellow colors on him, aka printer colors. additive vs subtractive colors? RED PICTURES
Shape results: Green triangle, yellow hexagon, purple (magenta?) square, red circle, green star, released in a clockwise circle GREEN PICTURES
Shape results: reddish, dark blue, light blue, spikey green and moon yellow, cyan, red, yellow, indigo, green, released randomly
BLUE PICTURES
Shape results: Reddish, indigo, cyan, light green, green, cyan, pink, blue, light green, yellow, purple, 2 blue, cyan, 2 blue, blue, green, yellow, red, blue, blue, released rapidly and randomly
the only connection i can find grouping each photoset is the first is generally more atmospheric/environmental, the second seems to be where many character models must have gotten their inspiration, and the last is obviously the C&A office
I had the thought to possibly compare caine and scratch from when kinger was talking about him- kinger says "his ideas were often so bizarre and abstract that the rest of the team had no idea how to work in his language. either due to pure brilliance or… the tumor in his head" and the camera is on photographs of random scenes presumably of stuff caine had made, and the crew definitely find caine bizarre and hard to work with. If the theory about bubble being the "true" antagonist and bubble is some remnant of abel, he could be the equivalent of caine's "tumor"- a malicious part of caine that was destroying him from the inside. it could also just be caine being an unfinished/malfunctioning AI, i noticed particularly the blue angled shape that caine makes a lot of here and thought it could be metaphorically similar to tumor cells?
idk if this box means anything? It does seem like the shape has some intention but the only thing i could possibly think of is a hallway with doors, at a stretch it could represent the hallway of the digital circus? There was that line in episode 7 where caine, through abel, says that caine is just as much a prisoner of the circus as everyone else.
Yellow/light green is the only color fed into blue, and there are no pictures with it-- maybe Abel doesnt/wouldnt have the same modeling capability as caine? shape results: Reddish triangle, yellow hexagon, blue square, green circle, red star, green triangle, purple circle, reddish square, released counterclockwise
not sure why it would matter that caine released the shapes clockwise and abel released them counterclockwise, but it seems like a detail that at least is there to differentiate the two.
After absorbing blue and an initial flurry of random shapes, it seems like caine was able to much more intentionally create shapes here-- related to "I'm better" comment?, like "i WAS bad at that, but I'm better now"
this part reminded me of HAL, but I dont think it was intentional. I've just been thinking about Caine in THAT scene of space odyssey for weeks
