Lyrium - Used as a liquid or a dust and makes the user feel strong and warm, and causes everything to sound lyrical. Added to liquor to make Aqua Magus. Used by Templars. Addictive. 

Dragon’s Blood - Imprints memories. Implied to feel warm. Used to create Reavers

Felicidus Aria - Used for perfume or potions believed to impart wisdom but also cause rapid aging.

Silverite - Can be used to cure poisons.

Many of the constellations formed by the stars above were first read and interpreted in the days of the ancient Tevinter Imperium and thus carried meanings that supported their heathen beliefs. Over time, and with the rise of the Chantry, those meanings evolved to reflect great truths about the Maker's children.

Astrology for the Good Andrastian seeks to share that meaning with prospective parents, that they might make the best decisions to prevent magic in its earliest stages, avoid the shame and ill omens associated with some unfortunate star signs, and ensure they can identify heretical astrological charts.

I wrote AO before WoTv2 came out, and Karl’s romance was just a throw away line to a male Hawke. I thought that was hot garbage, hence Amell’s existence and Karl’s rewrite. Took me a while but now I think Kanders slaps.

Eventually (10 years, 100 years from now...) I'm going to go back and edit it all to make it align with WoTv2. It doesn't really change much aside from my peace of mind. Karl as Anders first boyfriend who got sent away to Kirkwall when Anders was a teenager. Anders still bangs everything that moves in the Circle, but he holds Karl in the back of his head, the memory fading a little more every year until he can't remember Karl’s voice, Karl’s hands, Karl’s face. Instead heteronormative reservations about Amell they would be about moving on from Karl, which he obviously does. Amell is a lot of firsts he aways thought he'd have with Karl (see again: teenagers.)

Then Amell fucks off and Anders gets abandoned all over again, and lives with the same fear of forgetting Amell’s everything. Hella PTSD. He finds Karl eventually, feels guilty about having moved on, about how much more his thoughts are about Amell, even though Karl is alive and Amell is (allegedly) dead. Karl is super nice about it and doesn't mind because it's been years and almost no one stays with their first forever.

They try to pick up where they left off. It's awkward and choppy and they don't remember how their hands fit on each other but they try anyway. Then he dies, and Hawke gets to help carry even more of Anders bags than usually.

Do you think Hawke can hear some frequencies better than others? My mom can hear low pitches a lot better than high ones, so I'm picturing like, Hawke can't hear Merrill almost at all, but Fenris or (better yet) Justice would be easier to understand

They're actually all canon characters. I'll write up a dossier on them all if you want, but here are the ones with pictures. 

(Left to Right): Jacen, Seranni, Amethyne (when she was younger - she is now missing half an ear and has shaved half her head), Maraas, Martine

Not Pictured: Ailsa (A silver-haired mage in her sixties suffering from lyrium mutation. Blue crystals break through at her joints), Nolan (Half-human, half-dwarf, his skin is covered in dwarven tattoos and burn scars.) Tamarel (An elf, lean and loud, covered in bandoliers, belts, and bombs and capable of shedding them in seconds). Fenley. (A knight. A massive wall of muscle with a stern face.) Warden Archivist Ailsa

Canon: A Grey Warden who has gone to their Calling by 9:41 Dragon.

Ailsa’s Diary | Ailsa’s Sketch AO: Ailsa is Vigil’s Keep Warden Archivist. She is a laetan mage specialized in telekinesis. She worked as an architect in Tevinter for many years, until the Ambassadoria’s architects drove her out of business. Ailsa became addicted to lyrium, ruined her relationship with her family, and got herself deep into debt trying to keep her business afloat.

Ailsa’s debts eventually reached a point where the only avenue of escape was selling herself into slavery. She went to the Grey Wardens, who agreed to pay her debts if she survived the Joining, but still expected her to work them off. Ailsa escaped her debts but not her addiction, and asked to be reassigned to Ferelden when she heard the Warden Commander there had lost his sight, believing he’d be more sympathetic to her limitations.

She left behind a daughter in Tevinter who never writes, but Ailsa still sends a letter every annum. She is in her sixties with silver hair, and suffers from lyrium-mutation: sapphire crystals break through her skin at her joints and cause her chronic pain. She is self-conscious of her body and sombered by her experiences, but very compassionate and playful with her friends. She is well-liked by everyone at Vigil’s Keep, but her best friend was a dwarf named Lyam.

Lyam served at Vigil’s Keep from 9:32 Dragon to 9:36 Dragon. Ailsa writes a letter to Lyam each All Soul’s Day and buries it in West Hill, where he died fighting the Ortan Harvester. Lyam is interred in the catacombs beneath Vigil’s Keep, not far from Sigrun, and Ailsa and Anders visit them together on occasion.
