What is "The Great Disaster"?
The Great Disaster: The Gathering Storm, is an AOHII mod that seeks to recreate the universe of the Red Flood, making it more realistic and historically accurate, but not losing its spirit like TNO (unfortunately) did. In fact, this is a mod that passed in the year of 1936 in a WW1 that ended in a Stalemate, differently of the Red Flood, the effects of post-war were very different:
France fell under a Provisorial Government under a fascist dictatorship under Jacques Doriot's rule. France passed over coups d'état and the regime of the Action Française in 1931, which was overthrown by Doriot and the AF, alongside democratic and other republican forces, fled to Argelia, creating a government in exile under a military dictatorship.
Germany miraculously survived the Spartakist Rebellion and managed to create the Weimar Republic, however, it cost all of its colonies and the region of Prussia, which now is under a military dictatorship under the Kaiser Wilhelm II.
Russia is fragmented because of the exhaustion of the Russian Civil War, both White and Red Armies were put on their limits, now, Alexander Kolchak and Joseph Stalin (representing Vladmir Lenin), assigned a cease fire, in 1936, both sides are recuperated, and the Russian Civil War is about to be continued.
The Americas, nothing has changed much, except for Brazil. In 1932, the São Paulo's Constitutionalist forces managed to have greater support from the other states, with Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina and Paraná entering the revolution against Getúlio Vargas. In 1934, Getúlio Vargas was deposed by the revolution and Julio Prestes was put on power, continuing the oligarchic government.
In Africa, due to France being defeated by the German Empire, many French Colonies have been transferred to Germany, but with the Spartakist Rebellion in Germany and the proclamation of Weimar Republic, the Colonies had been abandoned and then they collapsed by revolts. The United Kingdom, seeing that, annexed many colonies from Germany and France, acquiring Tanzania, Namibia, French West Africa and Togoland. Around the mid 1920s, the french colonies that remained in Sudan and Guinea declared independence, creating 5 states and one anarchic territory in Niger.
Austria was one of the winners of WW1, but with the plans of the United States of Greater Austria being put in practice, it served to collapse the Austrian Empire and with the Hungarian Revolution of 1919, Austria and Hungary are in a constant war to reconquer that remained of the Austria-Hungary Empire, the Austrian Empire managed to have an advantage over Hungary.
