Plans for Ringing in the May
Not only have I moved away from my Morris community, we’re also in quarantine. We’re going to have to adapt.
I always take May 1 off of work for holiday as well as for Labor reasons. So that hasn’t changed. I’m still planning on getting up before dawn to greet the sun. I’m going to put my bells on and either dance a jig on my balcony or go down to the hiking trail near my house and dance there.
Later I think we’re all going to meet up on Zoom for May Day breakfast. We’ll have someone lead the singing while we sing along on mute. I’ll have to prep something nice for myself.
I’ve started playing my typical Maytime music, which is mostly Lisa Knapp’s “Till April is Dead-A Garland of May.” Whatever to imbue the House with the summer energy.
I’m also infusing some vodka with blueberries and cloves, so maybe I’ll make a nice cocktail to celebrate.
