So Aodháin’s writeup is posted but I’m gonna throw it here too because its LONG for the card whoops
Aodháin’s devotion and loyalty to his squad is second to none. He would give his life for the squad leader at any moment, not just because lower ranks are supposed to, but out of deep respect.
Originally stationed in Orr as a reconnaissance agent, since joining the Pact he has learned to use his Druid abilities as a field medic when needed. As a desert adapted Sylvari, he spent time in Dry Top aiding the crash victims and safeguarding refugee camps. Transferred to the Silverwastes to assist with preliminary scouting, Aodháin’s squad remained there until the Pact assault on Maguuma. Staying behind to assist the thinned out troops, he wasn’t with the fleet when it went down, but he could see and hear the chaos of it. Abandoning everything and running into the jungle without a trace of self-preservation, his mind was preoccupied with only one thing: finding his squad. Among the wreckage and chaos, the few of his squad he could identify were long dead. He assumes the rest of the squad dead, rather than keep up a hope that may crush him later on.
Staying with Pact forces, his scouting and medical skills were put to the test in the new, dangerous lands of the jungle for a time. Aodháin’s growing sense of dread at the treacherous whispers sweeping the encampments and constant state of being on edge drove him away from the Pact. Striking out on his own with his sylvan hound, Cailean, Aodháin became more of a survivalist, still keeping one eye open in search of any signs of his former squad.
As time since the crash grew longer and longer, the little remains of hope were extinguished and he gave up on trying to recover the bodies, Aodháin’s purpose shifted. To him, becoming Mordrem was something that no Sylvari would ever desire, and seemed a fate worse than death, to destroy ones people and former allies. He began to seek out the Mordrem crawling in the jungle, and in his views, mercy kill them, ending their suffering and making things safer for the tattered Pact forces.
After the events in Maguuma, Aodháin has become colder, and less trusting of those he once considered his family. Many were ready to turn on him at a moment’s notice, some had, and how many more were considering it? He decided not to immediately return to either the Pact or Vigil forces, and remains a solo operative beside Cailean.
