So I really shouldn’t be finding the news amusing at the moment BUT guys, I just accidentally found a segment on TV talking about Coronavirus (not surprising right) but it was talking about most of Australia’s new cases are coming from the US, so naturally the convo turned to shutting down travel between the countries. 

To which a news anchor, a fully trained, professional journo on a respected tv channel, burst out laughing at the thought of our PM doing that to Donald Trump. About how mad he’d be if we did it to him first, how we’d have another overblown phone call from him probably leaked to the press, how he’d rail at us in the USA press. 

Then she quickly conceding that it would be a ‘brave’ move, one that Scomo probably wouldn’t be able to do, easily implying that our PM is a cowardly suck up.

She. Just. Roasted. Donald Trump and Scomo in two sentences. In such a professional chill way. Fucking hell. I want to save this segment and watch it forever. I want to marry this woman.

So. My mum passed away last wednesday, after a year of fighting with a terrible and cruel disease. 

It hurts.

I swear my least favourite movie cliche is the one where the world starts out so promising. Its grey! Its complex! People do Bad things for Good Reasons and hurt other people! They hurt other people intentionally! They cause war for Stupid Reasons. The hero faces the idea that their Good vs Bad world view doesn’t exactly work.,.

And then...

Its revealed all the Bad Things were caused by the Bad Organisation/Villain/Devil and that people are all sunshine and roses.

Every single time I send an email that ends in Kind Regards, I think of that story about typing Kind Retards instead. 

Every single time I overthink it. Wondering after I’ve pressed the send button if it was that day. The day I’ve also put in Kind Retards. The day I manage to softly insult the very people I’m trying to be professional with. The day I single handedly push the self-destruct button on my own career and offend actually decent human beings who didn’t deserve a random insult chucked in the bottom of a two page email about Actual Adult Work Things. 

The fear is real.

Had one of those few birthdays where it was just nice. An impromptu trip to the cinemas with mates, then dinner with the fam, it was just. Nice. I love those moments where you realise your anxiety about people is just... your brain. These people are great. I love them. They love me. 

Anyone needs the positive vibes? Cause I’m sending them your way if so, I’ve got positive vibes to spare.

watching Iron Man 3 is a stark reminder of how much I love the movie as a singular movie, but hate it as it relates to the greater MCU story :/

You are an absolute darling for this ask, I didn’t tell you when we were chatting but ahdkjasd what lovely thoughts this brings. Ok, whilst it is very tempting to go down the usual route- Jason dresses up as Wonder woman and Dick dresses up as Superman (and sends pics to clark because ofc he would)... 

I love the idea of Jason being like, nah, can’t be stuffed for an outfit, so wears his old battered black leather jacket, and carries a bottle of Jack and announces himself as Jessica Jones. When Dick questions that you’re just wearing a leather jacket...Jason shrugs and swigs a drink because that is also what Jessica Jones would do in this situation and ha Dick I’m in character. Dick decides not to let him out of the house like that, and digs out Jason’s old wonder woman costume, which god damn is that getting tighter or...?? Dick regrets asking Jason to change almost as soon as Jason steps out.

Dick, the natural actor, went all out Jon Snow costume, and plans to spend the entire evening with a gruff voice. Whenever he pulls the voice, it makes Jason laugh because Dick you idiot that is your Batman voice. To which Dick constantly replies in the same gruff voice, you know nothing Jason Todd. Its the wrong person to say the line but Jason is too busy laughing to correct him because Dick subscribes to the school of method acting.

(After all that fuss, they don’t end up going to the party. Too many pennywise clowns around and Jason’s breathing gets funny, so Dick pretends he left something at the apartment, then woops I just remembered Scary Movie 2 is playing, then jeez jay you don’t look comfortable in the outfit, then right as things start to get interesting, Red Hood and Nightwing are needed across town. Damn it all.)
