It's kind of class balancing, warrior and rouge Hawke go to Kirkwall with Bethany, mage Hawke goes with the other twin Carver, I personally prefer Bethany but I'm biased though as I've never spent much time with Carver oops

aah gosh I'm sure you'll make a fantastic Sailor Mercury! I'll be able to post pictures of it by this weekend, seeing as it's at my dads atm ; v ;

You'd have to look it up but I'm pretty sure the kid is a huge plot thing, I did totally forget The Keep will let us build our story so the wardens fate is more or less up to us. For the game to make sense I think default be Hero of Ferelden.

I know people want to believe it, me included, but with the child being an optional route in the game, his importance feels not all that much. I do believe he'll have some kind of effect in Inquisition should you have chosen to perform the ritual but you can't make it all that much without forcibly putting him into stories where it wasn't taken.
