we all like to talk about the rots novelisation and for good reason, but i do think we are not talking about this moment in the aotc novelisation enough

My fav scenes from AotC novelization:

1. Anakin tries to touch the lamp which looks like a glowing sphere but it floats away. This makes Anakin grin from ear to ear.

2. Padmé's family praises Anakin and he's staring at his plate shyly.

3. Padmé catches Anakin when his legs are giving way during mental breakdown.

Re: AotC deleted scenes

As many have pointed out, the extra Naboo scenes in AotC are important to understanding Anakin and Padme’s relationship, particularly for those who find it perplexing otherwise. Especially when it comes to Padme's attraction to Anakin. He met her family! Her dad likes him! Her young nieces are enamoured with him! Her sister and mother gently tease her about her obvious attraction to him! Her whole family fawns over him! He is sweet and polite and genuinely interested in her past volunteering with refugees and in her career! By the time they reach the lake house, Padme's family has practically adopted him! I've written about this before, how these scenes not only provide Padme's character with more background context, but also clearly show Anakin and Padme bonding over their mutual desire for home and family. These scenes are bright and hopeful and are a stark contrast with the despair and hopelessness of the scenes with the grieving Lars family on Tatooine.

That said, I may be in the minority here, but for me, it's never been an insurmountable issue that the scenes didn't make it into the final cut because they *were* incorporated into the AotC novelization (which was based on the earlier forms of the AotC script), and are therefore nonetheless still 100% part of the Lucas-era canon. For instance, even though Padme's parents, sister, and nieces didn't make it into the AotC film, these characters are present at her funeral in RotS, so they DO exist in the final-cut version of the SW universe.

I realise a lot of people may not be aware of the existence of these scenes (since DVD special features are sadly no longer a 'thing' in the era of streaming), and that its partly why many SW fans continually misunderstand Anakin and Padme's relationship (particularly re: the reasons WHY Padme falls for him), but I always just feel the need to point out that in the Lucas-era these scenes (along with several other deleted scenes from the Prequels) were at least a little more well known and understood to be part of the story, even if they didn't appear in the final cut.

aotc novel audiobook is fine and all but it feels like it was recorded by a person who had not yet seen the movie (actually makes sense with the way they were writing and releasing those books) and yeahhhh I love different takes from different people on the same things but uhhh I just watched the movie and the guy's just not saying it right

Reading the arena scene in AoTC novelization and it is now my headcanon that Little Boba Fett developed a wee crush on Padme due to her obvious badassery.

The way Anakin/Anidala haters act like Padme had no interest in Anakin in AOTC when she was constantly like "I need to kiss Anakin and take him to my villa where we could have a proper date and I need to get into bed with him cause he's having a nightmare" and all that. Like that girl was so thirsty, the entire lake around Varykino couldn't help her.
