Being an adult will have you unironically craving a vegetable

I’ve decided to leave my school but admittedly am doing it in a cowardly way. I haven’t submitted resignation and will go back if I have to.

I have two interviews next week in districts out in the counties. I’m def getting the first- hr contacted for an interview less than 24 hours after I submitted my application.

The other? Applied as a lark just to see if they’d even talk to me. It’s in the top three best public high schools in the state. And I got an interview wtf.

Idk if I can do that culture change. My career has been in alternative ed. A lot of it was cyber because aging/ sick parents. The last ten years has been at a last chance urban school.

I know I need the change. There are other reasons I’ll get into in another post. But this is a huge change and I am so scared.

I won’t just be changing schools. I’ll be changing an entire model. Even if I don’t get into the fancy suburban school. Even the shittiest schools are going to have more resources than I have at current school.

All that said. I CANNOT WAIT to teach at a regular school. I’ve never done that. Fucking scared tho.

Not the boyfriend mansplaining why Philly shouldn't have cancelled the July 4th parade due to extreme heat "because the marching bands were allowed to wear shorts and short sleeve shirts" and I wound't know because I don't really understand how it is to be out in the heat.

So many people don't understand that these kids aren't going from an air conditioned place right to the parade and back again. Those kids are out there FOR HOURS. Even if the parade route is only a mile. I gave examples of how often we had kids down due to heat sickness during summer band.

Didn't matter. Apparently I don't know what I'm talking about.

Soooo gonna try it. I started writing fics after over a decade of not writing anything. Playing in someone else’s sandbox. Which is fucking awesome and the best stuff I’ve ever written. I’ve got my world. Got my characters. Framework.

Gonna try it.
