LIFE can be boring sometimes, especially if you have nothing on mind that you want to do — wandering mindlessly around with no goal in your head and finding nothing special to do.
But it can't be that bad, right? If you are a serial killer, searched by a whole country. You're walking freely with no shackles or cuffs, you are able to breathe fresh air and see the sky.
Instead of rotting in a cell, deep in the underground and almost suffocating. Yes. It's not that bad to wander around with no goal. At the end you're still free, in a town where no one recognises you.
Seems like the news didn't reach this little town yet.
The orange-haired guy stuffed his hands into the pockets and got out some strings to play with, not noticing how an important gift from the Sakamoto family slid out of his pocket.
"Hey..!" a feminine voice called.
Apart froze mid track, legs not moving an inch anymore as if he was caught by surprise. Did they catch him already? This was kind of quick. Well not that quick, this town did take a while.
"You dropped this— Oh wow!" the woman gasped in surprise as soon as he jumped back in distance.
"Who are you!?" he got into stance, fingers tangled with his strings.
Until his gaze landed on the little gift he got from Sakamoto, it was a souvenir from the tokyo tower. "Where did you—!?" he immediately panicked and rummaged through his pockets.
"Pfft..! You dropped this just now!" a laughter escaped her lips.
It sounded rather soft and sweet, non-threatening and filled with homely energy. The aura that surrounded her felt comforting as if she casted a magic spell in some kind.
"I uh..." he trailed off and blinked slowly, cheeks reddening.
"Here." she stepped forward to him and decided to take his hand, placing the souvenir into his hand.
"Thank you." he muttered.
"No problem! And by the way, you seem a little stiff." she noted with no shame or whatsoever, a bright grin adorning her lips, "you should relax a little! Are you stressed or anything?"
"No, I'm not." he was quick to deny. Yet he is stressed because of her.
"Really?" she tilted her head slightly to catch a glimpse of his face, hidden by his bangs.
His eyes wandered up and down — and he could tell with just one glance.
That she was definitely a messy person, a bit unorganised. The trait matched her sunny appearance and personality, easy to approach and feel comfortable. And Apart hates it when people are unorganised.
"Well..." she hummed under her breath, "walking around the park usually helps me! I get to breathe in air and all. Maybe it will help you too. You can try it out."
"Your..." his green eyes fell on her disheveled clothes, eye twitching slightly.
"My?" she repeated and followed his gaze, "oh woops!"
The woman chuckled sheepishly and was quick to adjust her shirt after his indirect mention. "Sorry! This happens to me often." she apologised and laughed it off, no embarrassment lingering.
"It's fine, I don't mind much." oh how much he does mind.
"Keep me company!" she suggested. Oh god wait — this wasn't a suggestion. "We can walk a few rounds around the park!"
"Sure."
Actually, he isn't too sure why he agreed so fast. That woman was far too sunshine and also messy, in a way that it does disturb him. Yet he couldn't help but open his lips as soon as she asked.
Perhaps he was too desperate for a new friend?
"Uh... Wanna be friends?" he questioned awkwardly.
Do people ask to be friends? Or does it come naturally? Why the heck is he so nervous?
"Sure! I'm [lastname] [name]." you introduced yourself while walking side to side.
"I'm Apart." he followed in suite.
To be honest he isn't sure how he should feel. He is a teeny tiny bit flustered and also nervous! A tingle just tickled his stomach.
"Yay, a new friend!"
"Do you have a lot of friends?"
"A lot of friends?" you repeated and blinked, "you could say so. I think making friends is fun. But it also isn't an easy word to throw around. I would rather say we're acquainted until I felt a special connection."
Special connection huh?
"I want that too..." he murmured under his breath.
"Friends or a special connection?" you grinned.
"Both."
"It's easy! You gotta go with the flow and then you'll be able to connect with others." you explained, "I can help you find new friends. And also, that's how you form a bond. Like right now, we're bonding!"
"We're bonding?" his cheeks heated up in awe. "I like that."
"Me too. Let's exchange numbers."
"I don't have a phone."
"What!? You don't have a phone? Oh man, this sucks."
wherein a phone call at almost midnight turns into a hang out — in, he is visiting you for the first time !

"NO wait! You can't do that! Stop right now!"
You cried out into your speaker and sat up from your bed, phone pressed against your ear as you listened to how Apart was giving suggestions — his way of befriending someone.
It sounds... totally wrong, to say at least. Almost like a threat.
"Uh I think I still haven't got the hang of it yet." he commented before adding, "let's be friends."
A shudder ran down your spine as you breathed out at another suggestion, which wasn't bad compared to his other ideas, yet it also wasn't good. You sweat dropped and leaned against the wall.
"This sounds too forced. And also, you don't ask someone to be your friend..." you trailed off, "not in this way."
"But this worked with you."
"Yeah, it did. But others might think it's too direct after exchanging a few words."
"Did you think... I was being too direct with you?"
"Nah, you're all good. I love it when people are direct instead of fumbling with their words actually." you heaved out a sigh, "I could complain about them all the time."
"...I would listen."
"Really?" you beamed in delight, lips curling into the brightest grin. "You know what? You're already doing a good job."
"Are you sure? I thought I'm not learning fast enough."
"I'm sure, especially when you're putting in a lot of effort." you let out a chuckle, "it's not about learning fast. People can learn fast, others slow. It just depends how you take in the information."
"[name]."
You hummed as reply and stared at the ceiling, eyes glued to the white colour and hands occupied with your phone.
"Are we bonding right now?"
"We are! I think I'm starting to understand you a lot more." you paused.
"Makes me happy."
He really does sound overjoyed. Not that you are able to see the proud smile forming on his lips yet you could hear it, in his voice. The faintest hint of excitement laced in his tone.
"You should totally come over next time!" you suggested, "we could make a meal together and talk so much more. Actually, I don't like talking over the phone at all."
"Sorry... If I'm allowed to, I would come over."
"Pfft— You don't need to ask! You can come over any time." you laughed as you plopped down to your bed again.
"Like... right now?"
"Eh?" you blinked rapidly and immediately found yourself sitting up again, head turning side to side. "R-Right now!?"
"Never mind."
"Wait no! You can! P-Please come over..!" you tripped over your own words as you rose from the bed with a surprised expression.
"It's so sudden."
"Y-Yes! I was just surprised! But I'm bored anyways and we can uh watch movies or something else!"
"Are you sure i'm not intruding? What about your family..?"
"I live alone!" wait was it really fine to bring over a boy into your room.
Your eyes flickered to the time on your phone, showing you point eleven pm. It was even dark too, midnight almost. Well never mind, you trust Apart so you don't worry that much.
The only thing you are worried about is how messy your two room apartment is right now.
"Come over, please. I will send you the address."
"O-Okay..."
Now you felt a little guilty for overwhelming him like that.
"Sorry, I shouldn't rush it too." you sighed out and shook your head, "we can postpone to tomorrow if you'd like."
"I'm already on my way."
"WHAT—?!" you gasped in shock and hung up. Accidentally.
Before going into the chat and texting him an apology — and that you have to clean up your mess. Your cheeks heated up in embarrassment as you glanced towards your room.
With that, you didn't hesitate to rush into the small part of your kitchen, that was connected to your room, and got a wet towel to wipe the table clean. And you also had to throw the trash out.
Time passed quickly, too quickly, as you took upon the mess in your kitchen sink, cleaned the bathroom and even folded all your clothes to push them into your closet with all your might.
It didn't take long until it ringed loudly in your house.
"Wait..!" you exclaimed and hurried towards the door, stumbling a little on the way before opening the door. "Good evening!"
"Good evening..?" he repeated after you and blinked, questioning inwardly why you were out of breath.
"Oh, you brought..! Something?" you eyed the bag he was holding on to and asked curiously.
"Ramen cups... It's not much." he trailed off and raised the plastic bag slowly, "I thought about... making a meal."
"At this time?" you asked as he nodded, making you laugh out loudly, "pfft— S-Sorry for laughing..! Okay sure, this could be our midnight snack!"
"Midnight snack?"
"Yeah midnight snack. People don't usually have a meal when it's midnight, but if they're hungry — they make themselves a snack." you explained before giving him space to enter, "come in, come in!"
His eyes landed on the sweat beads formed over your skin, your disheveled pyjama and your messy hair as if you've rushed within the walls like some manic.
Most importantly — the beaming smile that adorned your lips despite all that.
"I will make you the most delicious ramen you have ever laid your eyes on to! Or well, you ever tasted!"
