Townsville Primary School’s Speech and Drama programme is different as compared to other speech and drama programmes I’ve been involved with as I am given the opportunity to direct multiple pieces for the school.
Hamony Xtravaganza is a Musical Production commissioned by People’s Association. It is a musical devised by 32 participants from various countries and ethnicity.
Through the process, I am given the opportunity to co-facilitate the research/devising process and learn stage management skills.

The Learning Connections (TLC)
February 2017 - August 2017
This was my first time working with preschoolers, initially, I was really afraid of working with children of such a young age. Thankfully, with the mentoring by the company, I have gained acknowledge and techniques on how to create better lesson plans and facilitate my lessons better.
I was teaching Chinese Drama-in-education, to children (18months to 6years old). Through my time, I was given the autonomy to write my own lesson plans. I enjoyed the process as I could explore the different ways of facilitation and activities that work best for me as well as my students.
One of the most precious lessons I've learned from my experience in TLC is that children are capable to design their own learning. I feel that as an educator it is important to respect the children and let them take the lead in learning at times. I truly enjoyed the process of learning through play with the children and highlighting important learning points to the children after the session. As I feel that the children have learned happily and subconsciously.
