Goodbyes with Poland and Italy

“I can’t believe you’re graduating,” Feliciano mumbled as he hugged his best friend. He knew that Feliks had waited a long time for this moment, five whole years of hard work, before he could finally walk at graduation and be finished with school for the rest of his life. But still, he didn’t want to see him go.

“Hey, don’t worry about it, Feli. I promise I’ll visit as soon as I get the chance.”

“Really?” 

“Yeah, totally! Besides, it’s not like you don’t have any other friends here, you have Ludwig and Kiku-”

“But they’re not art majors so we’re never in the same classes,” He wined. “And neither of them have any fashion sense. I’m going to have to go shopping by myself now.”

Feliks thought for a moment before responding. “How about this, we go on one huge shopping trip to the mall before I go back home, since I’m not leaving until tomorrow. How does that sound?”

“I’d like that!” Feliciano agreed excitedly. 

Feliks grinned his gorgeous smile at him and Feliciano was stunned. As much as he loved his other friends, Feliks connected to him on a level that no one else ever had before. It was the closest thing he ever experienced to love.

As much as he wanted to tell him this, he knew it would only make things more difficult for Feliks. So for now, all he could do was go on that shopping trip, and say goodbye.

APH ItaPol Headcanons

-They are the couple that does everything together. Whether it’s going grocery shopping, running errands, or attending parties, they are rarely ever apart.

-Italy is the one who usually cooks, because he genuinely enjoys it while Poland usually doesn’t, unless it’s a special occasion. 

-Both are picky eaters, and are very honest when they don’t like something (but also when they do).

-They try to cover each other’s weaknesses the best they can, especially when it comes to socializing. For example, Italy does most of the talking when they go out, due to Poland’s fear of strangers. But if and when it comes to a confrontation, Poland is the one who steps up. He tries his best to get over his own anxiety and protect Italy, but if all else fails, he’ll grab his hand and run away.

-Veeeery affectionate with one another. Poland was a bit more hesitant about PDA than Italy at first, but became more accustomed to it after they dated for  awhile. Now, they’re basically the couple that everyone tells to “get a room!”

-They rarely ever argue, but when they do, it’s usually after Poland sees Italy flirt with someone else. (They have had more serious arguments in the past, but agreed to forgive each other, and move on) 

-When they first met, Poland was the bad influence friend that always got them into trouble. Italy doesn’t hold it against him, though.

One of these days I want to write an ItaPol fic set during the time they lived with Austria and Hungary. I’ve only seen maybe two or three fics ever with them interacting at all, and I think that’s such a shame. They are such cute friends and I’d love to explore their dynamic a bit more.
