Do you have any niche headcanons for the Korea family that you haven't written on your blog just yet?

Family tree I drew on Ibispaint with my finger so yall aren't confused. They're color coordinated!

Having multiple births (twins, triplets, etc.) runs in the Korea family

No one knows who is older out of the triplets (Baekje, Goguryeo, Silla) so they all call each other "dongsaeng" and constantly fight 24/7 because of the disrespect. When twins NK and SK were born, their mom decided NK was older to avoid that

NK inherited a lot more as the eldest son and SK HATES how he gatekeeps everything (the official jokbo, houses from northern ancestors, some obscure history books, bronze daggers from Gojoseon that SK REALLY wants)

SK and NK are mirror image twins (SK right-handed and NK left-handed, hair curls on opposite sides, etc.)

Their grandpa Gojoseon owned a pet Siberian Tiger. That tiger's descendant stalk NK sometimes but no one believes him cause his phone takes shitty photos and it disappears quite often

The Korea twins and their mom look exactly like Gojoseon. Baekje and Goguryeo resemble Jin state. Balhae looks like Sumo (unrelated to the main family)

Balhae is the Korea twins cousin but it's very unclear. She was not recorded in their jokbo (family record) since she was born far away and doesn’t look like them

All of them have different surnames except NK and SK

Balhae inherited "Marie Antoinette" syndrome from Sumo, where one's hair rapidly turns white after a stressful incident. She got white hair after she fled to her aunt's house after the Khitan Empire's Liao dynasty attacked

This family has a trend of eloping after the fall of their state. Gojoseon fled to Jin's house after the Han conquest and had the triplets. Goguryeo fled to Sumo's house and had Balhae

Jin is a charsmatic, artistic performer while Gojoseon is a reserved strategist and warrior. They pass down either social skills, artistic talent, or intelligence. No one has them all at the same time...

Baekje was best friends with ancient Japan but they were both using each other

Goguryeo also has curly hair. He straightens it everyday because he doesn't want to look like his siblings (SK does the same but his hair is more wavy)

OOC;; While it seems likely that Jin was a confederation of several smaller states, North Korean academics tend to characterize Jin as a more centralized system or even a single state. This is disputed by South Korean academics because there didn't seem to be a capital or even a region to serve as the "center," and there just isn't much written record about "Jin" as a state suggesting that it was an organized entity.

There is also some debate about whether Japonic languages were spoken in southern Korea during the time Jin would have existed, and whether Yayoi people may have lived there before migrating to Japan, adding to the mystery about the people of Jin.

Gaya is your cousin, right?

“Nations are not born the same way humans are, so we are not quite related in the same way either. No one really knows how nations are born. By choosing to describe a predecessor as a mother or father, we are simply trying to make sense of the influences on our people’s tangled bloodlines.”

Those tribes intermingled and those people became the Gojoseon people, the Jin people... Our blood and the people we represented changed over time.”

OOC;; Jin represented a loose confederation of states in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula during the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC. Many of those states were walled-towns with communal fields where rice was grown. What exactly happened to it isn’t well known, but it is thought that it either became the state of Jinhan or diverged into Samhan.

Jin State (grandpa Korea) + Guya and Mioyama

Jin has unknown origins but he was poor agricultural territory. He was often ridiculed for his rural nature, but gathered enough power to subjegate the other states and form federation in his name. Later on, he would develop a relationship with Gojoseon and his descendents would become modern Korea

There were many states in the southern peninsula of Korea during ancient Jin state. The two girls are the statelets of Guya and Mioyama in the future Byeonhan/Gaya confederacy. They are unrelated to Jin and each other, but the girls become the parents of Gaya. Jin was bullied by them for multiple reasons but the two backed down as soon as he absorbed their territories

He also looked up to China back when he was just a lowly territory

Gojoseon: Grandpa Korea

He’s the first Korea and the grandfather of the Korea twins. He paved the way for Korean identity and was an incredibly powerful nation. He’s very sensitive and gets offended easily, so it’s hard for him to make friends. Gojoseon is pretty forgetful because he forgot to write documents that would prove his existence (but he has high physical and intellectual skills). He eloped with the Jin state after his country fell

Gojoseon is not very flashy in nature, unlike his successors, so he wears the most basic clothing. He wears a braid bun to maintain his curly hair. His signature color is white because it represent origin and purity, a staple for Korean people by its color significance

Gojoseon was also childhood friends with China, but their relationship is a bit complicated
