while Romulus likely died 100% with the western empire I think he's already too weak to rule at all by the time Constantine wins the civil war. Canonically he is in pain whenever there's a civil war (bless him lol) + the division + other stuff, I can't imagine he was doing all that well 🤔 and idk if his bosses would want to have him as the face of their empire rn when he looks so ...off.

Constantine rolls around, wins the civil war, unites the empire again but most importantly brings with him Zoe (eastern roman empire) builds Constantine and grants freedom to christians .. I can honestly see her just taking his place atp alongside Romano when it comes to religious things.

So Romulus is most likely spending his last days bed bound hoping for things to "go back to normal" in vain 🫶 can't even go pray to his gods as the temples have already been turned into churches.

I don't think Savi and Zoe fully wanted him to die but I doubt they could do much + various family issues... idk 🤷 again this whole family is a mess

One of the reasons of rome's fall (this is a minor cause don't kill me) is that the Roman army on the east had Germanic soldiers who weren't fully loyal so imagine Germania just being there and Rome is like YO WATTUP and they form a bond but neither realize that the other is a personification lol imagine like 20 yrs later they meet on a battle field and cannot bring each other to kill each other so they sit there and bleed together or they *do* kill each other etc or

im sorry but I like these two as enemies and lovers they're such the ultimate dad pair you cannot tell me that their relationship wouldn't have paralled germany's and italy's

Also I am an avid believer that Romulus never converted no matter what. That man died a pagan at best maybe he did the usual "put the new religion's god somewhere in the already existing pantheon" (much to Savi's annoyance) but I can't see him ever walking into a church like at all his whole existence is based on him being pagan tbh

Anything Christianity related is all Zoe and Savi
