If anyone asked, Roderich was most certainly not interested in finding the apparent “soulmate” detailed in the poem he’d received. That’s the answer he would give, but said answer wouldn’t really match up with the fact that he had spent a good portion of the day walking about town, trying to find out if there was even a place to gamble there.
After some asking around, and probably casting too much of a suspicious light on himself, he managed to find access to a slightly more unknown place to gamble, within the town’s inn.
And that’s where he was, standing awkwardly in the entrance, looking very much lost and out of place. Perhaps this was a bad idea, he thought, and he should just go back home.
