Holiday prompt: Dean gets caught binge watching Hallmark Christmas movies
“What are you watching?”
Dean startled, grabbing wildly for the remote only to watch it go clattering to the floor. He retrieved it quickly, hitting pause and turning around to glare at Cas.
“Don’t you knock?”
“You told me I didn’t need to,” Cas said, staring at the screen as he sat down next to Dean. “Is that a Christmas movie?”
“....It’s Countdown to Christmas,” Dean mumbled, blush creeping onto his cheeks.
He’d been sure the Bunker was empty before he ventured onto the Hallmark channel but he must have lost track of time. Could have been worse, at least Sam hadn’t been the one to catch him.
“Can I join you?” Cas asked.
“You’re probably not gonna like it,” Dean warned.
Cas leaned back in his seat, the couch dipping to bring them closer until only a scant couple of inches separated them. “I would like to give it a chance.”
Dean hesitated a moment before hitting play again. He put the remote down, reclining against the couch cushions and, by complete coincidence, reducing the distance between them even further.
And if Cas ended up barely making it through twenty minutes before dozing off, leaning his body against Dean’s and resting his head on his shoulder... well, Dean did warn him.
But there was no harm in letting Cas sleep a little while. He clearly needed it and Dean was nothing if not a good friend.
Ok I give up. I was trying to find the post that I did this for but I couldn’t find it so just here.

just fyi, sometimes writers do this because they are converting it into a non-fanfic novel and hoping to get published
Oh, I know it’s a total possibility, but most of the ones that I see are usually surrounded by absolute trash and crack (of the 500-2000 word variety), so I can guess the mood I was in when I found a lot of them (the same mood when I YouTube surf and regret it later...I surf tags I have no business being in because I get so curious, but at least I now know what tags squick the hell outta me). And unless it’s gonna be converted into something that should have a Chuck Tingle title, the chances of them being published are pretty slim. But I still wish them luck if it is the case (and hope they end up on Amazon’s eBook area, so I can read the summaries aloud to my coworkers).
And if this was the case, then I think it’d be cool if the author left a half-assed story in it’s place with notes directing readers to the newly published story! New plan if I ever convert fic into published! =D
(Because seriously, I don’t get any sort of hint? No author, no nothin’!)
