what is the difference between mixed, biracial, multiracial ect? i understand that some terms like mestizo/a or hapa identify a specific race as one of the factors in someone's racial background but is it the same for these terms as well?

Is there any way to deal with the feeling that you arent good enough for neither of your races?(I'm biracial Black/white) I feel like I'm Not black enough. Also does this feeling ever go away or do I have to deal with it the rest of my life?

It’s hard to say if that’s a lifetime feeling or not. It can be but that doesn’t mean it will be 

The journey to self-love and self-acceptance is long and arduous and requires a lot of unlearning of internalized isms and figuring out how to be comfortable with yourself. That takes time

For me, I can’t say that there was one specific thing I did to be more comfortable with my identity but it really started with challenging people when they spouted microaggressions at me. Most of the culprits of this were actually my White family who always made me feel like I wasn’t enough and being mixed was a burden I’d been saddled with

I just can not relate to most content of this page because it seems to mostly be white passing mixed people asking if they're POC. Meanwhile my never-white-passing half black/half white ass doesn't ask herself that question: I'm black .

If people would send us more asks about being non-passing mixed and POC/POC mixed like we’ve been asking instead of sending us complaint messages like we have control over who sends us asks and what they contain, everyone would be a lot happier–Coyote

Hey so I was wondering your opinions on white passing black people using the n word ? I hope this isn't too broad of a question, I just don't see many people talking about it and I would love your opinions on the matter, thanks ! :)

Mixed Black people are still Black people. White passing Black people are still Black people but they may get called out based on their looks and that’s something they’ll have to deal with when it comes up. My opinion is anyone who’s Black has the right to reclaim it–Coyote

I'm a half POC and my white mom tells me that I look "Pakistani" or "Mexican". I'm not Pakistani or Mexican. Why does she say these things?

why do you ignore some asks I've asked about identity issues I have and stuff and you ignore them but you answer my simpler asks like??? this has happened multiple times this blog is the only place where I can really ask about this stuff

Because mods are all doing this on our free time. Sometimes asks get queued and sometimes they get skipped over because we all have our own lives and things and may not have the spoons to answer the tougher questions right when we see them

We also may not have the time to either if we’re just trying to knock out some of the asks before going to work or class or something. Sometimes we’re leaving it for another mod who would be better at answering the question and sometimes asks get buried or they don’t go through (I know tumblr has a tendency to eat asks)

If you feel like your question hasn’t been answered or it’s being ignored, please resend it but don’t spend half the ask talking about how you’re sick of being ignored (not directed at you just in general) because then we’re going to spend half our answer addressing that which we end up talking about once a week

Please remember that this blog is not our job. We don’t get paid to do this and I’m sure y’all can understand that when dealing with real life stuff sometimes you just don’t have the proper energy to address tough things or you may not have time (or you put something in the queue)–Coyote

Wait, wait, so a white person(with a black and a white parent) can still be considered poc, but a white passing poc?

A person with a Black parent and a White parent isn’t White, they’re mixed. Not everyone with a Black parent and a White parent is White passing. There are POC who are conditionally White passing and some who are totally White passing but that doesn’t make them White people –Coyote

Ii actually don't mean to sound dumb at all i'm just really confused but would i identify myself as a poc because i'm half white and half filipino but i'm reallllllly white? like my mum and my sister are both very dark skinned (like normal filipinos) and it makes me feel like shit because i love their skin tones and i'm actually whiter than my dad who is caucasian and yeah idk if i would be identified as a poc because i'm pale af
