Film was an original creation; the idea of taking a several single frames of a picture in a row in order to capture real time was ground breaking. However, a few people had the idea around the same time, and were developing it. The Lumiere brothers were the first to succeed in France. I think complete originality is really difficult to achieve, because there's so much culture and innovation that's already preceded our time. However, I think it's also a part of human nature to want to be special, and therefore the strive for originality will always be there.

I also think that originality doesn't exist. But my definition is different from the accepted J-Howard definition. I think that most of our creations are something that copies something in nature or speeds up something we can already do.

I believe that the internet is for the most part original because before the internet there was no network that people could access from anywhere.  There was never anything comparable to the internet that people could have stole ideas from until the actual internet.

Originality

I do no believe that anything is truly original because every large idea is made up of smaller ones. For example, people find tunes, beats, lyrics and ideas from other songs to create their own. Just as, people use materials on earth to create new products. The materials on earth have always been there, its just the way you put them together to create new ideas.
