nonfriending: describes someone who doesn't want friends. based on “nonpartnering”, coined by an unknown person; the user originally credited on that linked aromanticism.org page has said it's incorrect and asked for the username to be removed.
i absentmindedly used this word while journaling, and realized it could be useful for talking about aplatonicism & related experiences. there are a lot of ways to be aplatonic; some apls have and/or want friends to some degree, but many of us don't. i think this is worth distinguishing from “plato-repulsed” and “friend-repulsed”, like how “nonpartnering” isn't equal to “romance-repulsed” or “sex-repulsed”.
i don't think i can control who uses this word – it's such an obvious extension of “nonpartnering” that i used it without even realizing – and i don't want to. i'm aplatonic and schizoid, and nonfriending because of both, and if it would help someone talk about themself i'm all for that!
