okay this pulled me in and got me thinking and considering.... brb loaning to all my friends
thunderstorming + finally finished this after starting it in france
also i'm like. in the time of reading the books off of my shelves and some of these books slap i'm like damn i can't believe i acquired this 5+ years + 3 moves ago and am just now reading it! but it's worth it this is the time clearly
i absolutely cannot buy or acquire anymore books but there are so many gaps in my collection im like. oh i dont have any books on x. and before you say "use the library" i do constantly this is the apocalypse library
ever since we started calling my books the apocalypse library i feel i have to be more intnetional about what i buy/keep in my home. specifically i feel like i need to prioritize black q/t stories as books i own rather than just check out from the library. like i've got plenty of farming/gardening/fermenting books and black/indigenous fiction but like. what about the real ppl doing real things living real lives...who is gonna know about them
my friend was talking about how they had a crazy move with one of the contributing factors being their house mate has a lot of books and my coworker was like "why so many books, you read it once and then give it away" and my friend was like "well it's their apocalypse library so" and we were all just like ooooh yeah well there you go
