I lovelovelooooooooove snow until I have to actually do shit in it. Today? Giggled happily through the morning. That shit stopped real quick when I had to shovel out the yard.

SAAAAAME. I'm hoping beyond hope that I don't have to go out tomorrow, because it's going to drop to 12 degrees tonight and I don't want to deal with the amount of ice that's going to be out on the sidewalks. Also, no one gets rid of the snow up in Harlem, so the roads and sidewalks become really treacherous.

Oh man, I'm so jealous. I somehow inherited a combo of curly but ridiculously thick+coarse. LIFE IS SO HARD /whine

I did get lucky on the texture front.  It's just that there's far too much of it.

My hair was that long a couple years ago. But there was too much of it so I cut it and have not let it get that long again.

Yeah this is out of hand.  It was perfect during the summer and then everything went to seed once I hit September

I don’t know what happened, but I can definitely sympathize with what you’ve said. Take all the time you need to heal, and focus on yourself. Try to remember that the shitty actions of others only reflect badly on them, not you. <3

It really is weird- especially since the holiday has become such a ~cultural thing~. Almost all of my friends from school, including atheists ("it's not a religious thing!"), are serious Christmas fans. It's bizarre. Oh well, I look forward to sushi.

Yeah, it's just so odd. It's so clearly NOT just a cultural thing, especially considering how eager people are to make Hannukah a Christmas alternative (when it's definitely not).  Oh well. At least we don't live in the UK. As bad as it is here, it's 800 million times worse there because they don't have Thanksgiving.

Yeah. I mean, I was going to say "I can imagine" but I don't really have any non-oppressor cultural heritage, so I can't, really. Hell, I'm really conflicted about Christianity myself and I was raised with it...

I'll admit, I had a pretty strong prejudice against Christianity before I went to college.  I had some deeply unpleasant encounters with Evangelicals and it left me with a pretty significant mistrust of self professed "Christians."  Then, I accidentally went to a Jesuit university and I learned that moderate, sensible, liberal Christians exist.  But I do have some lingering mistrust, I'm not going to lie.

Anne Frank is a beautiful person whose diary changed the entire world for the better. Her diary, think how much others have tried to change the world.

Why do people ever think that the best way to convince someone they’re wrong is to tell them to calm down? Good lord.

EXACTLY.  People telling me to calm down when I'm upset is the fastest way to make me angry.  And the appropriation of Anne Frank's memory is a serious issue.  It's worth getting upset.
