i love that jonathan spent today's entire entry worrying about the villagers' reactions to him going to the castle, talking about how uncomfortable he was and literally saying goodbye to mina in the entry just in case he dies, and then he ends the entry with "oh ! my coach ! :D"
Hi! Sorry to bother but I was wondering, what exactly is your pride and prejudice substack schedule? :0c
hi ! no bother, this is a super valid question. it’s SUPPOSED to be every monday and friday, but i’ve had a few personal matters (read: catastrophes) come up the past few weeks
my plan is that after pride tomorrow, i’m going to schedule a bunch of weeks out in advance (what i should have done in the first place) instead of posting the chapters day-of, so things should return to the proper schedule come monday !
i’m terribly sorry for the sporadic posting schedule, hopefully it’ll be fixed after this weekend
this dracula daily book club is fun and all but what are we gonna do when it ends ? we'll be used to eagerly awaiting emails from blorbo jonathan and then we'll be left with nothing :(
Hi I just saw your email book clubs master list and wanted to let you know I'm starting a (queer) fantasy detective series this Sunday! It's at sheridanbell.substack.com!
hello!! i saw that you took the time for the tumblr book club masterpost (thank you for that!). i was considering doing a group for the (translated) divine comedy by Dante Alighieri if there is enough interest (by which i mean if there is any interest really). i have a small audience and thought maybe sending you an ask would let me see if i should follow through?? i appreciate your help
i would certainly be interested !! and if you do it i'll add it to the masterlist
EDIT: https://divinacommedia.substack.com/about
rating ringed planet saturn emojis because space is cool
this isn’t really from a scientific standpoint, more of an aesthetic one
i really like this one. the colour palette is super nice, and i like that there’s variation in the bands on the planet surface. the size and even shape vary a bit. the rings aren’t super accurate, but they’re not bad
9/10 would move to this planet
a different tilt on this one. there’s something off-putting about all the shading and gradients, and while it doesn’t look spherical, it doesn’t NOT look spherical. the lighting almost implies that there are dents in the surface or something ? it kind of hurts my eyes. the ring colours don’t match the planet colours, and the bands on the planet don’t curve and look strangely metallic
4/10 what shape is this supposed to be
microsoft’s black outline is actually kind of working here. it gives a sort of space- esque look, and i think it makes the planet pop. unfortunately, that’s the only good thing happening here. why is the planet so orange ? why do the bands look like blocky stripes ? why is there a singular, weirdly golden ring ?
2/10 i’m uncomfortable
a lot of samsung emojis look like poorly traced apple emojis, but this one is actually different. props to samsung for doing their own thing this time. the colours are pretty realistic, although the planet gradient is a little uncomfortable. i like all the rings it has.
8/10 thank you for doing your own thing this time
not the most realistic, but i still love it. the shading is a bit unsettling again, but i really like the colours. they kind of remind me of jupiter though, i don’t know why.
7/10 why are the rings blue
this is like a slightly less bad version of microsoft. it has more than one ring, which is nice, but the shapes of the bands on the planet are kind of weird. i know it’s twitter’s aesthetic, but the colours are also really flat.
3/10 i still hate the colour palette
this isn’t super realistic but i don’t care, i love it. the shading is better than most, and i would believe that it’s a sphere. the colours are really soft and i like that the bands on the planet don’t look like hard lines. there’s something slightly off about the colours on the rings, but other than that i’m very pleased with this planet
10/10 something about this sparks joy
i hate this. the colours on the planet are weird, and it’s like that blended it too much and not enough. i’m not quite sure how that happened. the rings are nice, but something is making them look backwards and they’re jaringly different from the style of the planet.
5/10 pick an art style
this looks like a cartoon drawing of a bouncy ball that got dropped on the floor and has a hair on it to show that it got dirty. the colour is weird and has no bands, the shading is weird, and that’s a sad excuse for a ring.
1/10 is this even a planet
i LOVE how many rings this has. again, it’s not that realistic, but they add a weirdly pleasant sort of character. the planet itself has weird colours and weird shading, but at least it’s sort of cohesive.
