So, for Drom, I think that Drom’s personality would be appealing to Irisa because there is no bullshit when it comes to Drom. What you see is (primarily) what you get and she doesn’t care what anyone thinks about it or her. She is who she is and if anyone doesn’t like it they can go play the fiddle, or what not. Irisa would admire that a lot, I think, though I think that if the two should ever CROSS each other it would be the equivalent of world war 3 when it came to their tempers. When it comes to the aesthetic, I just see Drom dressing in a fashion that’s more of… mixed colors, mixed textiles, kind of hobnob put together in her own distinct flair which seems to be how the Irathiants thrive when it comes to their fashion sense so I could see Irisa appreciating that visual aesthetic of Drom’s. As far as sensual, Irisa doesn’t really like being touched etc, which for some reason I have the impression Drom would be that way too about strangers but… I could kind of see this… kind of relationship where they are kindof stand in mother / daughter for each other?? Though in some ways I could see Irisa kind of being maternal to Drom? Like… after hours, somehow, I could see them sitting with Irisa on the bar and Drom on the barstool and Irisa kind of absent mindedly brushing Drom’s hair and braiding it up or something… I don’t know why!
Datak (normal Defiance verse!)
✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧ | Sexual Attraction✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧ | Romantic Attraction✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✧✧ | Crushing (in like… a literal sense though)✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧ | Squishing✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧ | Sensual Attraction✦✦✦✧✧✧✧✧✧✧ | Aesthetic Attraction
So, basically, in the main Defiance verse, Datak stands for everything Irisa hates and she would love nothing more to wring his scrawny neck. BUT Nolan frowns on that kind of thing normally and he requires proof and this and that and he’s just suck a stickler about the strangest things. That being said, Irisa takes her job seriously when entrusted to protect people which means Datak kind of lives in this double edged sword area where she knows he’s a danger but she would protect him too – so long as it’s when he’s not breaking the law right that second? But she would love to give him a beat down. She knows he uses people and manipulates people and she has experience with people like that and knows exactly what they’re capable of so she has no love lost for him or his family. She might cut Alak some slack because she knows he’s walking the line between dutiful son and trying to find his own life to live but Datak and Stahma both kind of are on Irisa’s bad side. All that said, she is kind of drawn in by the sheer purity and cleanliness of the way they live and dress, which is where the aesthetic values come in BUT she much prefers her lifestyle in most things so, that only goes so far.
Datak (our au Defiance verse!)

So, despite the fact that Irisa, in this verse, was raised as something as a surrogate daughter in the Tarr household, there’s enough of set boundaries that define her as ‘NOT FAMILY’ and her own messed up head (without Nolan’s stubborn tough love to help her overcome her traumas as best as they could together) I imagine her having a great deal of dependency issues when it comes to Datak and not knowing where to draw the line. I think her emotions will be very flummoxed and misplaced which is why Datak has high marks in sexual and sensual content – to her physical contact of any kind where he is concerned is a win, however good or bad, or misplaced affections or abuse might be in that relationship. She is protective of him, jealous of others that hold his affection, but forced (through the school of hard knocks) to recognize that he values the others of his family far above her and that if she were to let anything happen to Stahma or Alak the punishment for that would far outweigh any ‘rise in station’ that might happen because of their absence. She has a lot of conflicted emotions, loving and hating Datak in equal measure, while wanting his affections and praise even in the smallest degree. She admires him, his family, holding the Castithan way of life above her own species, seeing as her species and culture were the ones that dominated, tortured and abused her, while Datak in his ‘high culture’ and superior intelligence etc. saved her.
