💗 I am off the charts proud of my little sister and have to take a break from yarnbombing for a minute to share with you the awesome work she will be doing this summer. @_manoneb will be spending her entire summer working with a fantastic group called Appalachia Service Project. She’s currently in Virginia getting some super intense training on home repair and construction and then she heads out to the Appalachian Mountains. @appservproject has a mission to make every home in the Appalachian Mountains warm, safe, and dry. It’s incredibly hard both physically and emotionally. Manon had volunteered every year to work on ASP when she was in high school and her dream job was to work the entire summer for ASP when she graduated. I’m so happy to say that out of many applicants, Manon was chosen to work for ASP this year! Awesome groups come down to volunteer for a week throughout the summer (like she did in high school) and Manon’s job will be working with these groups, teaching and helping them as they help the families in the area. I’m incredibly proud and excited for her but I’m also going to miss her and I’m a little nervous as well. The temp gets crazy hot, there are a lot of snakes and other bitey things where she and her team will be working, not to mention the dangers that come from working in construction. If you have a moment to send some good juju, thoughts, love, and/or prayers her way I’d appreciate it. 💓 You’re a badass @_manoneb and I am so proud and excited for you. ❤️ #appalachiaserviceproject #proudsister #appalachianmountains #raok #appalachiaserviceproject2018 (at Appalachian Mountains)
