It’s a case of materia use gone wrong, but we aren’t sure that anyone other than Genesis is all that bothered by it. Eventually, they figure out how to reverse it out of pity.
LMAO okay now that the flamingo is actually a form of Genesis the biting becomes clearly his only outlet for expressing the sheer rage of being trapped in such a useless and embarrassing shape. Which is appropriate and potentially a metaphor.
...it also occurs to me they do not as far as I know have flamingos on that Planet, so it might wind up being referred to as ‘that time Genesis got turned into the world’s skinniest and most useless Chocobo.’
