how to find the right app for the right story?
As Mobile City Dialogue explorers, storytellers, artists and media makers, Sander, Klasien and I are looking for apps that do the opposite of the situation above, apps that don’t suck you out of your moment, but make you more aware of the situation, the environment you are in or the people you are with.
The problem There are over more than 3 million apps around (and counting) and we are interested in this niche of niches: apps that can be used by storytellers, apps that bring you together with the people around you, apps that teaches you something about the place you are at.
How to find the best examples? The right app or technology for the right story at the right moment?
How We’ve set up a research project to go and meet people in New York, Canada and Amsterdam to figure this out. We do expert meetings, presentations and workshops, to share experiences with storytellers, app makers, digital journalists and media makers.
Results The results you will find on this blog, a post per app, with a short description, it’s characteristics and when and where it’s best to use. Also we will add user experiences. We will map it all in one big flow chart and create different ‘recipes’.
