[ Documentation of the ongoing "Apple Blight Fever" Illness found in Appleloosa. Currently not much is known about it other than signs of infection, as getting into and out of Appleloosa is hard due to a Quarantine put in place to prevent it from spreading further into Equestria. ]
[ Patient Name - Cherry Jubilee ]
[ Currently thought to be the Patient Zero for the illness, however new information could possibly contradict this. ]
Cherry Jubilee was found in her home coughing up black bile and screaming for help, and was brought into Appleloosa's hospital by a visiting pony named Applejack after finding her in this state. This also led to the discovery that there were at least 20 other ponies in town to be harboring the infection, and discovered to be caused by a fungus.
Investigations are going in to finding out whether or not the fungus arrived from outside of Appleloosa or from within the town, but for now those infected are in Quarantine and anyone they have came into contact with for the past 24 hours is also under careful supervision.
While other ponies afflicted with Apple Blight are in Stage 1, Cherry Jubilee and a hoof-full of others have progressed to a "Stage 2".
Stage 2 seems to consist of:
Vomiting
Weight Loss
Tiny boils and bumps forming on the body and especially around the Cutie Mark
Loss of Motor Control
Brain Fog
[ Stage 1 is currently still being researched, and information about any further stages and cures to Apple Blight Fever will hopefully be uncovered soon. ]
[ Documentation of the ongoing "Apple Blight Fever" Illness found in Appleloosa. Currently experiencing difficulties. ]
[ Patient Name - Apple Fritter ]
[ True Patient Zero ]
Currently, Patient Zero has gotten significantly worse since Stage 3. While Stage 3 lead to a bout of catatonia, Stage 4 seems to be the exact opposite. The appetite is back from previous stages, but has also been accompanied by aggression and uncontrollable bursts of movement.
Stage 4 symptoms include:
Cutie Mark that previously began to fade in Stage 3 is gone completely.
Unpredictable, sudden movement and heightened aggression
Bumps and boils from fungus begin to swell and expand
While staff were not paying attention to her, Apple Fritter was able to catch staff off-guard and subsequently escaped while also infecting two of the Hospital's Doctors. Her current whereabouts are unknown as she ran past the Acres, possibly miles past Appleloosa and potentially could be a danger if she somehow ends up in Buffalo Territory.
A warning about her and Apple Blight Fever will be sent to them as soon as possible, as nothing is known about how the illness affects Non-Ponies, and whether or not mutations in the fungus may occur from differing species. It's highly possible that even if Non-Ponies do not show serious symptoms, the illness could compromise their immune system and make them weaker to other, more deadly diseases.
Currently, Appleloosa Hospital is unsure of what to do with the rest of the infected Patients, as a cure has still not been found, and with one infected on the loose and possibly more if something positive does not happen, Drastic measures may have to be taken. As for now, it may be best to move them to Appleloosa's jail, as it will provide enough space to keep infected ponies safely contained and away from the healthy populace, as agreed to by Sheriff Silverstar. Currently, Staff and Appleloosa Officials are unsure of whether or not calling Princess Twilight Sparkle will help.
[ Documentation of the ongoing "Apple Blight Fever" Illness found in Appleloosa. Currently learning more about the infection as time goes on, however it's origin is still not known. Please be advised. ]
[ Patient Name - Braeburn ]
One of many ponies of Appleloosa that have fallen sick to Apple Blight Fever and administered for medical care and quaratine. Currently in Stage 1, which consists of:
Fever
Sore Throat
Loss of Appetite
Jittery Movement
The fever and sore throat can be mistaken for other illnesses, however the loss of appetite is concerning considering the drastic weight loss that occurs once Stage 2 is reached.
It should also be noted that Braeburn relayed information that was crucial in discovering the possible origin of Apple Blight Fever. According to Braeburn, he and several ponies had bought from two travelling Sales-ponies who were quick to leave, and a week later the illness began to take hold.
The identities of these two Sales-Ponies is currently unknown, but being investigated.
[ Patient Name - Apple Fritter ]
[ The real Patient Zero ]
Apple Fritter is one of the only documented ponies afflicted with Apple Blight Fever to be in Stage 3, the latest documented stage. She has also been confirmed to be the Patient Zero as she was possibly one of the firsts of a crowd of ponies to be infected through the wares of two travelling Sales-Ponies who are currently unknown.
Stage 3 symptoms are as followed:
Bulging of skin near cutie mark and other areas of flesh where the fungus breaks through, spreading further. Cutie mark begins to fade.
Hair Loss
Vomiting begins to stop as excessive drooling takes its place
Catatonia
Patient Apple Fritter appears to have stopped responding to stimuli after progressing, and has continued to be catatonic after several attempts to bring her out of it. It is currently unknown if she is braindead due to the Hospital and Appleloosa as a whole not being caught up to date in technology, which has resulted in information and research on Apple Blight Fever being delayed.
Further information will hopefully be discovered soon despite roadblocks and diffculties; HOWEVER, if progress continues to be slow and danger grows, calling Princess Twilight Sparkle to investigate may be needed.

[ By the way I did NOT mean to put Apple Fritter's status as "First Stage 3". There are no first parts of Stages other than the signs of symptoms, however this doesn't mean Apple Blight Fever doesn't evolve and mutate in some ways... ]
how would you all feel if I added some of my own personal headcanons into my MLP Infection Au for the sake of “It’s an Au anyways, might as well make things a little unique”?
Probably won’t do that MLP Au because I can’t think of anything for Pinkie and Twilight BUT but but but!!!
I have this idea for one of those infection aus I’ve had since like the trend for Infection Aus got big, which I’ve since had time to refine.
Basically the infection itself is a mutated form of Apple Blight that Flim and Flam tampered with in the hopes of using for one of their scams, only to end up becoming the Patient Zeros to it during a stop in Appleloosa.
I remember some pointers like Starlight using it as leverage for her cult and some other little things, but honestly depending on what I do in the future I might try to actually make some proper stuff for it ^_^!
So putting this as sort of a worldbuilding post regarding my Apple Blight Fever Au, if only because I'd like to introduce my own headcanons and changes to the general timeline aside from the infection itself, which won't be covered here as I want to lay out things from before Equestria was founded to the Two Sisters and the present so to speak.
[ All below so I don't clutter with an enormously long page ^_^! ]
Initially, Equestria and its surrounding land did not have magic, nor were the creatures around it magical. Throughout this land existed Ponies and many over hoofed creatures, who formed bonds as the world around them was hostile.
Grogar was the first of them to ever have magic though, having been born as the embodiment of it. Instead of using it for the good of his fellow creatures, he used it to torment them and rule as a tyrant, creating the first Monsters in order to keep those beneath him in line. In an attempt to preserve himself through immortality, Grogar put his soul into the Bewitching Bell, which worked, but made him vulnerable in the event that it was stolen, now being the sole way his body channeled magic.
One day, Grogar made the first Unicorn, as Ponies and their comrades had begun to fight against him, and he had decided to create her in order for hr to infiltrate their ranks so he could send his monsters to snuff out the light of hope; However, Gusty was kind and held none of the malice her creator held, and was beloved by the little creatures as she listened to their woes. Determined to put an end to her Creator's reign, Gusty led a charge on his lair and stole his bell, and without it, Grogar was as weak and mortal as the creatures he had once belonged to.
Banished and left to die from his age, Gusty was able to use the bell to give the world its magic, and especially the gift of wings and horns to some Ponies, allowing them to do feats of power with magic in the hopes of building a better future for them and the rest of their Non-Pony companions. Monsters still existed, but in time would be less powerful without their master to warp and control them, and the most dangerous of them would die out and leave weaker ones in their place.
Years would pass as eventually Gusty and her many friends would soon pass, her name only a whispered legend to those who were not educated in the wisdom of scholars. However, in her absence, Ponies began to outcast the Non-Ponies who were once their friends, realizing that while they had magic, their fellow creatures did not. Wars broke out between tribes, alliances and bonds once forged from hardship were destroyed by the entitlement of the ones who were once given their gifts for their compassion and bravery.
Eventually, some of the Non-Pony species would leave past into distant lands to form their own kingdoms, away from the bigotry of the ones who turned their backs, while some like bovine and donkeys were allowed to stay, but still had conflicted relations with the Ponies.
And soon, Ponykind would turn on each other once they had reached the power over the Non-Ponies that had left or stayed amongst them; After all, Earth ponies had nothing compared to the Unicorns with their magic and privilege and the Pegasi with their flight, and both two tribes also found aspects of the others that they could not stand.
This led to wars and fights as Earth ponies would withhold food, Pegasi would willingly allow the weather to go out of control until respect was regained, and Unicorns wagered the passing of Day and Night in order to receive the benefits of food and fine weather.
And from this growing hatred of their outcasting of Non-Ponies to their own In-fighting, one of Grogar's most dangerous creations awoke again: Wendigos.
Soon, the Ponies land could not hold food, and weather grew uncontrollable. The three races agreed to go their separate ways to find new homes, but found difficulty as they always were close to each other, and the harsh cold brought by the Wendigos followed them no matter what. It was not until 3 brave ponies from each tribe settled their differences that their love and compassion for each other as friends drove away the Wendigos, banishing them until the next time Ponykind began to hate each other.
From the banishment of the Wendigos and their control over the weather, the three tribes founded Equestria, a land with plenty of space for both Earth Ponies, Unicorns and Pegasi. While they still had their arguments and difficulties getting along, they had come to realize from their plights that life was easier if they loved one another, and for many moons they did.
Soon, however, two sisters would be born from a family of Earth Ponies, Celestia and Luna, the first Alicorns.
Considered miracles by their village and parents, the two were loved and treated like royalty, but soon realized they were immortal after the parents that brought them into the world passed from their old age. Heartbroken, they left for the Capital to discover themselves, where they were welcomed and soon mentored by the fabled Starswirl the Bearded, a powerful unicorn who saw the potential in the two sisters. While he could not help them in their self-discovery, they soon found their destiny in controlling the passing of the sun and moon, as a unexpected crisis had led to the two celestial bodies no longer obeying the whims of Unicorns.
With their newfound status as Princesses, Starswirl continued to help guide them as both a mentor and parent, as they soon grew into their role as Rulers of Equestria.
...But soon after, Starswirl would disappear, having left to take care of business he thought he had left in the past, leaving the two sisters without their mentor. Overcome with the stress of her royal duties, raising the sun, and protecting their home from Deities of Chaos, banishing an entire kingdom to seal an evil threat, and so many more, Celestia began to neglect her sister Luna. The youngest of the two also began to resent her, noticing just how much the ponies that they served adored Celestia over Luna, and favored the bright days over her dark nights.
Soon, this resent turned to envy, and soon to hate, as the young Princess began learning dark magic in an attempt to make the night more "appealing" to the mortal ponies below. However, this tampering would cause the young Princess to lose her mind as a great evil formed from her negative emotions took over, turning her into Nightmare Moon.
Soon the moon would no longer yield to the sun, and chaos ran rampant among Equestria. The forest of which the Capital inhabited grew wicked, and wolves made from the lumber of the same forest hunted down ponies, as Celestia confronted her sister. Using the Elements of Harmony, artifacts left in Starswirls absence that could seal the fiercest of their foes, Celestia banished her sister to the moon for a 1000 years, her biggest regret.
Moving the Capital from the Everfree Forest, now eternally wicked and strange in ways ponies could not grasp, Canterlot was soon formed in the mountains, as Equestria changed through those long years without the Princess of the Night.
Years would go by, as Celestia studied the Elements and became curious of why they were so potent, taking on apprentices that either excelled or abandoned her for many a reason. Soon though, she would realize there was a prophecy written amongst the oldest of books Starswirl had gifted the sisters before he left, that six true friends would be able to wield them and protect these lands with the power of their friendship.
Celestia, in the wake of this new knowledge, would patiently await the arrival of ponies that matched the prophecy, knowing they would one day free her sister from her madness.
[ And that's all I got! I might cover more in the future, but I might also just make some references of the Mane Six so that I have references for Apple Blight Fever. Also might make comic segments when I can since the Documentation format might not work 100% of the time for story purposes, so enjoy those when I make them ^_^! ]
