Preparing for Mabon!

Usually we don't like to waste food that can be eaten. However, we had a couple apples that were past the point of no return, and instead of throwing them out we made apple dolls.

Our method:

Peel the apples

Carve them with a paring knife

Dunk them in a mixture of lemon juice, salt, and water

Bake them at about 200 degrees for 2-6 hours.

Then just let them sit till Mabon, Skewer them with a Popsicle stick and dress them up.

If you use all biodegradable materials (That will not be a choking hazard for small animals) then you can hang them on trees for the birds to eat.
