I have a new iPad!!

So my beloved iPad, "The iPad Sent By CyberLife," died last week - hardware failure. I made an appointment last Monday for today to take it in for repairs. I took it in to the Store today, and as the tech was getting info from the iPad, it did it's thing and started restarting repeatedly every few minutes. She said the Japanese equivalent of , "...ok, yeah, wow," and said they'd give me a replacement.

I walked out of the Apple Store with a shiny iPad, and once I get home and get it set up, I will promptly christen it "The iPad Sent By CyberLife Mark II."

I still don't understand why anyone would buy an ipad

   You're spending £400 on something that has absolutely no purpose. There's no unique selling point so it has no function that something else can't do. There's no USB slot so you can't add your own media or an external hard drive. It's tried to be marketed as an e-reader, but still, that makes no sense. No one in their right mind would spend £400 on a device to read a book and then buy the literature ontop when you could just go and buy a book.

   The only reason I can see that someone would buy an ipad is because it's an Apple product and they have been enticed by the ridiculously pretentious advertising.

   If someone can shine a light as to why people are so desperate to buy this completely needless gadget, then go ahead, because I really don't understand the logic.
