The new feature arrived with iOS14, but is not compatible with all devices with update

The new feature allows you to lock and unlock your car, and you can even start it.
Apple CarKey works by means of NFC communication, communication by proximity field, in this way it is enough to approach the iPhone close to the reader to start executing its actions. According to Apple's website, Carkey works up to 5 hours after the iPhone is completely downloaded .

The first car to have support for the new feature is the BMW 5 Series 2021, Carkey will be available on the Apple Wallet.
