The Azendoo office has been overrun!

Yes, the Azendoo office has been overrun, but it wasn't by zombies! We’ve got a few new faces in the office and wanted to take some time to introduce everyone. So check out our new interns and what they’re all about.

  Jason Lopez

Graphic Designer

  Originally from Poitiers, a “gloomy town” between Paris and Bordeaux, Jason studies Multimedia Infographic Design at ESMI in Bordeaux, and yes, the art force is strong with this one. Bored with print media, Jason wanted to expand his creativity and push his limits with web-design. As our Graphic Design Intern, he’s all about making the web site and application awesome, not to mention helping the marketing team with banners, newsletters, event supports, and new logos.

When he’s not barefoot in the office, you can find Jason tagging a wall, hanging with his friends and doing as many cultural-hipster things as possible.

  Simon Bonnard

Developer

  A fifth year masters student at INGESUP in Bordeaux, Simon is studying Computer Science and specializing in Software Engineering but brags that his favorite school is still the internet. At Azendoo, he’s is all about Back-End Development (Ruby on Rails)! That means he’s the guy working on some sweet new surprises coming out soon.

Working on interesting projects with a fun team is important for Simon, but even when he’s not working, you can find him in front of his computer screen reading articles about philosophy and personal improvement. Check him out at @simonbnrd

  Mathieu Alvado

Developer

  As an Azendoo intern, Mathieu is developing the native mobile application for iOS. Last year, he studied as an exchange student at the University of California Davis, and this year he’s at ENSEIRB-MATMECA in Bordeaux, majoring in Computer Science and specializing in Software Engineering.

After having lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, he had a first hand experience with the fast-paced startup environment and focused on finding an internship with one in France. Lucky for us, he’s at Azendoo doing some cool stuff! During his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, visiting new places, traveling and he’s even working on his own start-up project!

  Quentin Voirlot

Developer

  First and foremost, Quentin is our world traveler. He’s spent the majority of his life hopping around countries like Africa, Guyana and Polynesia, soaking up cultures and getting shit done. After high school graduation, he decided to come back to France and study Computer Sciences at EPSI in Bordeaux.

Here at Azendoo, Quentin is a front-end guy. That means he’s all about javascript, website creation, chrome plug-in and having fun with a great team =) In his free time, Quentin can be seen taking pictures, making goPro videos surfing, skating and sleeping.

  Dan Rock

Community Manager

  Hailing from The U.S. of A., Dan is our “typical’ American Community Manager. We say “typical” because he eats tons of peanut butter and drinks watered-down black coffee all day. After moving to France in 2010, he decided to go back to school for e-Commerce / e-Marketing, and is currently at The University of Bordeaux 4.

He’s all about social network content, fun pictures, informational videos and connecting with as many users as possible. So if you interact with Azendoo on our social pages, there’s a good chance that Dan is behind the screen! When Dan isn’t working, you can find him making youtube videos, watching movies, spending time with friends and traveling as much as possible. Check him out @danielrock_4

Azendoo launches a new interface

The new Azendoo interface appeared on your screens yesterday morning.

This is another important step for our team and especially for you, our customers and users. Welcome to the first version of Azendoo made largely based off the feedback of our 19000 users in 160 countries. Here it is:

OK, so the photo is nice, but the best way to discover our application’s new look is to connect to Azendoo and see for yourself:

Since the beginning, our vision was to provide our users with the easiest, most ergonomic and efficient teamwork experience as possible. We spend a lot of time in front of our computer screens reading and writing emails, searching for information and synchronizing with others. It has even become the majority of our daily lives, and it’s generally seen as a waste of time or stressful to say the least.

Azendoo was born from the idea that we can, and we must, do better. Today’s enterprise solutions are heavy, complex or just plain ugly. We want to bring pleasure to your work life in a challenging and attractive environment. Our goal is to help you regain control of your life, instead of being continually stressed by an information overload.

Therefore, our user experience requires a precise and impeccable design. This new interface responds to your desire to do better, more simply and more intuitively. The basis of our roundtable discussions were to:

  • Make teamwork and group organization fun • Automate multiple synchronizations, which is done naturally through the use of Azendoo, • Save you time with more accessible, more relevant and better filtered information, • Use the full capacity of your screen and prepare for the near future of Azendoo (…), • Create a personalized environment for greater comfort while allowing you to manage more projects, • Provide an application that is user-friendly for all types of companies, from bank's and healthcare, to start-ups and services, • Provide immediate benefits. We want you to feel the effectiveness of Azendoo in the first few minutes of use.     We are already in the process of designing more new features for the new Azendoo. Some may even be making their appearance in a few days. Such as: • Functions related to Workspaces: more administrative functions and the ability to use several email addresses, • Advanced project features, milestones, subject models, timeline views, • Repeating tasks, unassigning, commenting and individual tasks models, • Further email integration capabilities, task interactions and message subjects, • User task monitoring, • Advanced filters (subjects / people / time ...), •  "Guest" users on a single, confidential topic, • Integration with Dropbox and BOX,  

and many other surprises that we have up our sleeve, in part thanks to your feedback ... but always in a simple, ergonomic and intuitive interface.

[New Features] Delete, Archive or Close a Subject

Subjects have a prominent place in Azendoo because, thanks to them, all your information (messages, tasks, documents, links, notes, etc.) can be organized collectively.

That’s why being able to close, archive and delete subjects has its own official blog post.

Close, Archive, Delete a Subject

Several possible scenarios:

When should you Close a Subject? Is it the end of a project, an inactive client or a new year? The main idea is that you don’t want to add new information to the subject (except when reopening).

Consequence: The people involved in the subject can continue to search for information or check the history, but nothing new can be added and nothing can be changed. New members can still join the subject to view it’s history.

Note: A closed subject can be reopened at any time. Learn more.

When should you Archive a Subject? Archiving a subject is used when you don’t want to see the information about a project on a daily basis, but it can still be reopened if you need to find it.

Consequence: The effects are identical to those of closing a subject, except that the results from a search for this subject are hidden and can only be displayed on demand. Plus, nobody can be added as a member or a follower.

Note: An archived subject can be restored at any time. Learn more.

When should I Delete a Subject? The Azendoo app is designed to keep all your subjects. But sometimes we have practice subjects, or we make errors (even the best of us) that we want to delete.

Consequence: You and your teammates will no longer be able to find anything relating to this subject after its removal.

Note: We draw your attention to the fact that all the information collectively created and shared on the subject will be irretrievably lost. Learn more.

Role Change:

It’s also possible to change the role of a subject, or leave a subject that you’re managing (members can then take control by becoming the manager).

When you leave a workspace you are:

Leaving all subjects on the workspace whether you’re a follower, member or manager.

Allowing other subject member to become the manager of any subjects that you were managing on the workspace.

Closing any subjects (which in turn erases all the subject content) where you are the only participant.
