HOBBITCON DATES HYPOTHESIS.

Okay guys, here is the thing.

My amazing and lovely applindy and I started to fangirl about HobbitCon until she told me she might have found the dates of HobbitCon. It’s only a hypothesis, it’s NOT 100% sure.

But we checked a lot of hotel booking websites (INCLUDING the Maritim website), and it all says that there are no room available from April 1st- 4th 2016. So, I let you guess what it might mean...

Hello! May I ask you something? (you can answer privately if you'd like because it's a very specific question!) I am working with Simplicity's pattern 1551 and want to lengthen the train, but I was wondering how you did it? The pattern already reaches the sides of my fabric when folded, so I would love to hear how you did it! Thank you very much in advance!

That’s exactly the same problem I faced when I was making my dress and I went about it by simply adding a couple of inches to the hem so the train was created naturally by adding length to the back of the dress.

But that’s not how the train of the dress used in the movie was made and looking back on it - especially since I now have a better understanding of how patterns work - I really want to redo this dress someday with a more correct train. Even though that would mean having a center back seam and you would have to cut out the pattern twice from the fabric with single thickness…
