2.What’s their favorite amusement park ride?

Vell: While Vell likes roller coasters to a degree, too many loops and turns and twists get his stomach in a knot. Smooth ones without any craziness would be best if you’re going for a coaster, but you bet if he goes to an amusement park he’s going to want to ride the Ferris wheel at some point. Get to see the view, cozy up to the person you’re with and it’s less likely to be coated in strangers’ sweat and vomit.

Skye: The tallest, fastest one they have. Shoots you straight up? Drops you straight down? She’s in. Bonus if they take a photo of you screaming like a dumbass in the middle of it.

29.What food crimes have they committed?

Vell: Would have to be pineapple on pizza. Not just that but he eats his pizza backwards. The crust is his least favorite part, so he eats it first to get it out of the way and move on to the good stuff. Last bite’s gotta be the best.

Skye: Depends who you ask. According to Valerius it would probably be the fact that she drinks red wine with fish and white wine with meat and don’t even get him started about how she drinks straight from the bottle!

5.Do they sleep under the covers, with one leg out, or on top/with no blankets?

Vell: So many blankets. Unless it is so blistering hot that he can’t stand it he love being cuddled up under the cover with the softest blankets he could possibly find. He doesn’t move too much when he sleeps too, so when he sleeps alone he’ll often wake up bundled just the same way as when he went to sleep.

Skye: If she starts off under the covers she doesn’t stay there for long. Skye is a chaotic sleeper. She’ll wake up with her feet on the pillows, body draping off the bed, or occasionally on the floor. If you’re sleeping with her you have to hold her down or else you might wake up to feet in your face.

18.Brushing their teeth before or after breakfast?

Vell: Depends if he’s alone or not. If he’s all alone he’ll wait until after breakfast to brush, but when someone’s around he will brush before and then again after so he doesn’t offend anyone with his morning breath (which really isn’t too terrible. Boy’s got good oral hygiene)

Skye: Before. She doesn’t even always eat breakfast so when she wakes up and splashed water on her face she cleans up her mouth too before heading out just in case she doesn’t have time later to come and brush up.

24.Shoes on carpet?

Vell: please no, unless it’s a rug specifically made for wearing shoes on. In the shop we have area rugs but don’t expect customers to take off their shoes, but they can be easily cleaned and intended for such purposes. If you’re on a rug that people live on, sit on, etc, then please remove your dirty shoes first. ; w ;

Skye: What shoes?? Do I have to wear shoes? If she’s forced to wear them you bet they’re coming off any excuse she can get. “It’s just polite!” I promise she doesn’t care about getting the rug dirty, she just reallllly doesn’t want to wear shoes.

4.What's an item that is deeply important and special to them? What makes it so special?

Vell- His mother’s bag. She dropped it off with a few items when she left him and his brother at the cirque and he’s kept it ever since. Used to carry it a lot but it started getting worn and beaten up so he stopped because he was afraid it would get damaged beyond repair.

Skye- she doesn’t have any item like that, in fact there are times when she doesn’t own anything at all. She puts more importance on memories and moments than actual tangible items, especially since she’s had so many memories taken away or repressed in the past. Each one she gets to keep, make, or remember is extra precious.

15.What (kind of or specific) outfit do they feel most comfortable with?

Vell- Soft fabrics, loose or exposed around the ankles and wrists, he likes things with tassels on them and floral patterns.

Skye prefers loose and flowy, sheer fabrics, nothing too constricting. No shoes, please no shoes for ultimate comfort. If she could just be naked all the time she would, but since she has to wear something in public she’s going to wear things that breathe and move so she can feel both hers and the natural wind.

22.Do they have a best friend? If so who is it?

Vell- Asra, of course. He’s happy to call Asra both his partner and his best friend

Skye- Not necessarily any one best friend, but there are quite a few other apprentices she’s been fortunate enough to call friend now :3

31.If they could have any pet, what would it be?

Vell- A hamster. Those chubby widdle cheeks and wee hands and the way they almost waddle when they run. :3  He would never actually get a pet simply because he would spend too much time worrying about it and fussing over it, he’s already got Faust and Asra to dote on and protect and that’s enough for now.

Skye- She would not want any pet at all. Having Sergei screaming at her at the crack of dawn is such a delight, how could she ever imagine having more small creatures demanding her attention at horrific hours of the day and night? She’ll settle for enjoying seeing and playing with other people’s pets.

1.What's your OC's favorite cuddling position?

Vell- Please lay on his chest. Weighted blankets are good but nothing beats a human blanket. He’ll rub his partner’s back until one of them falls asleep, no matter what time of day it is because sleepy nap cuddles are just the best.

Skye- already talked about one here, but she’s also a fan of random standing cuddles. Pull her to your chest and put your chin on her head (if you’re taller) or she’ll put hers on yours and just disappear into each other for a few minutes. That’s some good stuff.

3.What's a secret passion of theirs?

Vell- Probably more of a hobby than a passion, but y’all know he likes to collect rocks, but did you know he also likes to paint some of them? Makes them look like little animals, or cactuses, or things of the sort and then will just leave them around town to put smiles on people’s faces. Of course he keeps most of them for himself but he enjoys spreading that small amount of cheer to others.

Skye- Skye doesn’t necessarily have any, she’s pretty open about everything she’s passionate about, which isn’t much prior to her heart being unlocked. Once she’s able to feel things to her full extent no way she’s hiding anything she enjoys.

13.What's the most memorable compliment they've ever been given?

Vell- The best compliments for Vell are ones that aren’t directed at him specifically. Say he does something nice for you anonymously and later hears you talking about how said thing really made your day. That’s the best compliment because it’s sincere and honest.

Skye- Any compliment that isn’t about her looks hits right in the feels, that’s going to stick in her mind forever. Compliment her soul, her heart, her tenacity and she’s gonna remember that always.

25.What's their favorite place to kiss their partner?

Vell- Shoulders. Specifically kissing their shoulders from behind. Especially if they’ve just been outside and their shoulders are exposed and warm and sun-kissed.

Skye- Gotta go with plain old on the lips. Skye’s not great with words, so she expresses many emotions with actions. Perhaps it’s her way of stopping her partner from making her talk about it, but engaging their lips in non-verbal communication is her jam.

35.What do they smell like?

Vell- He probably ends up smelling like Asra a lot of the time, but when he doesn’t he naturally smells kind of like old books, with undertones of spiced citrus. Not in a way that seems like oh this guy spends a lot of time buried in books, more of a oh this scent seems familiar but I can’t place it…old books maybe? Sort of way. If that makes sense.

Skye- if you’ve ever smelled a Tranquiltea woodwick candle before, she smells kind of like that - light and fresh.

1.What's your OC's favorite cuddling position?

Head in the lap - either her laying in her partner’s lap so they can run their fingers through her hair or them laying in hers so she can do the same for them all while maintaining soft loving eye contact. Even better if it’s outside where she can pretend nature is making music just for them.

7.If they were in a book, how would they describe themselves?

“My reflection caught my eye in the mirror across the room and I startled myself with the intensity of my gaze. Despite the way my carelessly smudged makeup made the teal of my eyes pop something about it felt empty. Perhaps the harder I stared the more alive I would look? No doubt I looked like a damn fool holding a staring contest with myself, but how could I back down now? The magic running through my veins buzzed in mild irritation, causing a gust of wind to pick up around me and whip the lengths of my hair against my arms and cheeks. Periwinkle…had that been the flower its color was compared to earlier today? I had taken it as a compliment at the time, but as I had walked away I found there was something about being compared to weak, helpless flower that boiled my blood and such emotions resurfaced, drawing my thin lips into a tight frown. As if knowing I needn’t any reminders about how helpless I truly was the tattoo on my arms began to pulse, those damn teal marks taunting my better natures until I could smell the imminent storm forming behind me and I conceded to let my reflection win this one.”

24.What's their favorite (non-sexual) place to be kissed?

Top of her head, especially if it’s done casually or out of the blue. Just walking along conversing, arm around her waist and then, completely unprompted, to get a kiss on the head? So sweet :3

10.How many pillows do they sleep with?

Vell- Not very many pillows, one for his head and that’s about it, but there would be lots of blankets. Lots of soft blankets. Not all of them on top of him either. If he’s sleeping alone one would be bunched up to cuddle with, an extra one on the other side in case he rolls over and doesn’t bring the first with him, one bunched up at his feet under the covers in case his toes get cold. He loves his blankets.

Skye- She may start off the night with one or two pillows, but ohhh boy unless someone is actively holding her she is a chaotic sleeper and by morning all the pillows, most of the blankets, and possibly even her will be on the floor.

5.On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?

I’ve answered this one for Vell a couple times (rocks and crumbs) but for Skye:

She normally doesn’t wear things that have pockets, which could be frustrating, except she doesn’t really have anything she needs pockets for. She has hardly a penny to her name so she really doesn’t need to carry around money (times that she does it gets spent fairly quickly) and if she’s traveling somewhere she needs to bring things with her she’ll bring a bag. What can be found on average in her bag? Nuts for Sergei, probably a partially drank bottle of wine or alcohol, shoes in case someone forces her to put them on, and a little tiny hat in case Sergei ever decides to let her put it on him. (Spoiler alert: he won’t.)

15.Is your character preoccupied with money or material possession? Why or why not?

Vell: Money, not so much, but he gets sentimental with items. In modern times he’d be at risk of becoming a hoarder in that he doesn’t like to get rid of anything he finds meaningful. That pair of shoes with a hole in the bottom? He wore those on that one hike where they got to see the sunset, how could he get rid of them? Oh that candy wrapper that falls out of his notebook every time he picks it up? No he couldn’t throw that away, Asra got that candy for him the day they saw fireworks, how could you even ask him to get rid of it?

Skye: Absolutely not in any way. As mentioned earlier she owns next to nothing, mooches or makes most of what she needs to get by and generally flies by the seat of her metaphorical pants. She grew up living that way, at the cirque it just made sense to not own many things to make travel easier and Dimitri raised her to not just survive, but be happy without many material possessions.

25.How quick is your character to suspect someone else? Does this change if they are close with that person?

Vell: If said person hasn’t done anything to harm his trust in them he’s not too quick to suspect, especially if they are close. If there’s evidence that they’ve done something bad sure he’s going to follow up and find out the facts, but he’s not going to jump to any immediate conclusions if they haven’t given him reason to. He’ll be extra cautious until the truth is found out, but he’s not going to immediately mark them guilty.

Skye: She overthinks. Everything. Even if she doubts someone’s motives or suspects them she probably won’t act on it or accuse them. She may distance herself from that person and find a way to run away from the situation, but she’s not going to let them know why. She tends to be even more suspicious if she’s close to that person, because she’s certain things will fall apart at any second and they’ll leave her in a ditch.
