Come end of class, Yu-Jin retreated to his dorm. Guilt weighed on him so heavily when his fellow student was finally released from the infirmary. The damage he caused - almost irreparable, certainly not the work of a hero.
He’d avoided eyes all day. Ducked his head. Turned away. Refused.
That scar on Ame’s face was his fault. It was unforgivable.
So the knock on his door surprised him, given no more time to brood over his mistakes. Yu-Jin was prompt about answering, having not even changed out of his uniform. Down he looked, as was customary now. ( Everyone around him was so small... )
All he could do was widen eyes at the classmate that stood before him. Shame clenched his teeth shut tight.
