Does anyone else get annoyed when people talk about Percy’s character??
Like Yeah, he’s a goofball.
Yeah, he’s a dork.
But what about all the other emotions he had?
In Lightning Thief, Percy not only finds out ”Hey the gods are real”, but Also ”your dad is one of the most powerful gods.”
Can you imagine how angry he’d be with Poseidon? Not only did Poseidon leave Percy’s Mother (whom he adores), but he Also completely left Percy to the mercy of Gabe. We don’t know Exactly what Gabe did to him, but we know that Gabe was abusive. Whether it’s emotional, physical, or psychological, Percy was abused. Can you imagine being 12 years old, and finding out your dad is this powerful god that could easily have stopped this abuse the day it happened? Could you imagine having to be the one to help your Mother break free of this hell after years?
Not to mention Percy’s self-esteem because... gods DAMN is it low. Not only does he find out that he’s suddenly a demigod, he finds out that he’s the /ONLY/ demigod of the big three (at the time), and suddenly he’s that misfit boy from school again, but this time he’s that boy in a camp full of people like him. Because in school he was the dyslexic, adhd kid. But here? He’s at a camp full of dyslexic adhd kids but is STILL the odd one out because of his father.
In Sea of Monsters, even his best friend treats him like shit after being attacked by the Lastygonians in the gym. Seriously, he comes busting out of a HOLE IN THE SIDE OF THE SCHOOL WITH A CYCLOPS, and the first thing Annabeth asks is ”What did you do now?”
Then he finds out ”Oh Btw your best friend has been missing for a while oh and Btw this camp full of people who fear you is in danger you should help” AND HE DOES. NO REGARDS FOR HIMSELF, HE GOES AND HELPS THESE PEOPLE WHO TREATED HIM LIKE A PIECE OF SHIT. THE ONLY THING THAT CHANGED IS HE FOUND THE LIGHTNING BOLT AND NOW EVERYONE LIKES HIM BECAUSE HES A HERO, BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE THE CHANCES ANYONE KNOWS HIM PERSONALLY?
Not to even MENTION the fact that between Scylla and Charybdos, he loses this major part of his life named TYSON and the goes to Circes life to (ONCE AGAIN) get his self-esteem lowered by Circe, and turned into a Guinea pig.
I’m sorry, this rant went on far longer than I meant it to, and TBH I could go on and on, but I’ll get to the Main point.

Percy Jackson probably regrets not leaving with Luke because some of the campers are just as bad as his stepfather.
PERCY JACKSON IS NOT THE PERFECT LITTLE HERO. PERCY JACKSON IS AFRAID TO LOSE HIS FRIENDS. HE WOULD TRADE HIS OWN LIFE FOR THEM, AND IF YOU DARE TELL ME THAT PERCY IS HAPPY I WILL NOT AGREE AT ALL.
