do you prefer to study alone or with friends?

when i have to do reading or i need to write papers for a class, i like to do that alone. i definitely like doing more problem-solving based hw (math, physics, other sciences) with friends though. usually i like it best when we all are working on problems quietly on our own but we are all working at the same time so we can ask for help easily if necessary.

[DAY 3-5 OF 100 DAYS OF PRODUCTIVITY]

I've now finished all the Maths work, and just have to watch the Edrolo videos for the chapter, the only problem is that there's over 2 hours of videos for the chapter. But it's taken less time than I thought it would to get through the homework, which is great!

16. Do you prefer binders or notebooks and folders?

I like notebooks better, binders end up getting too uncomfortable for me and I always forget to clean them out :/

17. What are some of your favorite studyblrs?

I can only remember a few urls but here we go: @phoebe-does @journals-and-journeys @adelinestudiess @gloomstudy @studytommorow @a-students-lifebuoy @obsidianstudy @athenastudying @booksandgeckos, there's a lot more but those are the only ones I can remember haha

18. How do you like to take notes? What method is your favorite?

I use the Cornell note taking method, but only because my school expects that. If I can use any method I want, I just use my own. It makes it easier for me to understand.

April Study Challenge

Day 9: What’s your study space like?

Oh no, I’ve been exposed.  Yup, I don’t have a white desk.  I’ve been using a white presentation board all along, just to fit in with the white studyblr aesthetic haha.  I really don’t like using this wooden monstrosity for studyblr pics because mom put a plastic sheet over the surface to protect the wood finish (well, I guess that’s where I got the perfectionism).

And yes, I need to two mugs, one clearly labeled “NOT FOR DRINKING” (the all-caps is necessary) because I’m pretty sure paint water is gross.  The brown board my current project is sitting on is actually the cardboard off the back of a Bristol paper pad.  I used to cover my desk with newspapers or brown paper for art projects.  Those two feathers in the jar of Mildliners are peacock feathers I picked up on a walk last week (might make them into quills, which would be really cool).

Sorry about that super white light in the window.  East-facing windows are problematic, even on cloudy days.  And look at those ugly yellow vertical blinds.

[Day 1: April Study Challenge]

Happy Easter, y’all!

I’ve decided to try out the April Study Challenge this year since I just started to get into my studyblr again.

Day 1: How do you stay motivated?

Sometimes it’s hard for me to become, or even stay motivated, because my personality fluctuates a lot between studying, athletics, hanging out with friends, or just having the energy to do stuff. Recently, I’ve been in a very motivated mood to continue my diet journey (I’ve dropped 20 pounds in 2.5 months) and I’ve been very motivated lately to workout and lift weights daily. For me, living at home as a sophomore in college helps a lot because my mom is probably the biggest and best cheerleader in my life and helps me daily to stay motivated and remembering why I’m in school and studying.

Also, I’m motivated to study my business courses this semester because I have a really amazing job opportunity this summer in South Carolina at a country club that I’m familiar with from visiting family and friends during my summer breaks in the past. Knowing that I have three months to look forward to in the summer heat of South Carolina is a huge factor getting me through my classes this semester.

[32/100] 01.04.2018 Happy Easter guys! How did you spend your day? I spent it mostly studying for my last midterms and crying because of La La Land with my mum hah. Anyways, I decided to take part in #aprilsc created by @nerdinaomi ! So the first question is “How do you stay motivated?” First of all, my motivation was pretty bad the last 4, 5 years? BUT then I finally found out what I really really really wanted to study soooo my motivation skyrocketed. I believe it’s at its highest now considering that I set a goal for myself of which school I’d like to go to. And I’d really love to finish high school cum laude (with a 8+ average) and that’s still quite far if I don’t do anything about it. To conclude this; my motivation is definitely setting goals for myself, there are also other factors to it as; making my parents proud, making myself proud and feel like I can accomplish something and also using all the capabilities that I have. But my motivation mainly comes from myself.

Okay so the notes I’m showing are a REALLY bad example bc I’m just making some study guides, but normally I do an outline thing // but these are my outlines for my comm class... studying getting ready for exams a few weeks early (aka a very new thing for me)

I definitely prefer to study alone, since most of the time, I am alone. However, I do like to study with friends for reviewing or group projects. Today, I’m studying alone. IB English Journals require quite a bit of analysis and reflection.
